Background : Reporter and activist Louis Flores is trying to raise $500 to hire a tenant lawyer to help him fight what what is expected to be an Eviction Order from his Landlord's agent, ADI Management/Herbert Donner. He has been fighting a rent collection petition that was filed with a false instrument (an affidavit that claimed that the Rent Demand was served) ; the petition was filed after the rent for the prior month was not cashed by the Landlord. For six months, ADI Management withheld from Flores a copy of the fully-executed Lease Renewal, which acted, in part, to undermine two applications Flores made for HRA's "One Shot Deal." At "trial" at Queens Housing Court, Dimitri Saridis, an employee of ADI Management, admitted that he and Herbert Donner himself intercept rent checks if there is a legal proceeding against a tenant, and that the policy of the office is to not to cash the rent check. It is against the law for a Landlord to file a rent collection petition after a Landlord refuses to cash a rent check.
