honestly x still has the best-written women out of any xenoblade game cause none of the playable cast get caught up in any romance writing bullshit and they all get multiple missions that are solely dedicated to them as people

god i miss xenoblade x so much. i think its overabundance of playable characters means most of them dont really get the attention they deserve but i like literally all of them they're all interesting

XC1 in the grey area where the plot starts to fall apart under scrutiny but it only ever starts to and never dies completely but also it fucks severely
the thing is while shit doesnt hold up if you squint too hard it still has a very clear purpose and direction and thematically holds up that purpose and direction very well. all the way through to the end, in fact. so while the details get fuzzy it still knows exactly what it wants to be. thematically, it's very cohesive, and that's why it works

i think the dirtiest confession i could ever make to this blog is that i started playing xbc2 and it’s not nearly as bad as i had believed,, like don’t get me wrong the first hour sucks but after that its been pretty okay, or at least just curbs my hankering for xbc1 exploration and fighting (I feel like I’m betraying my xbc1 puritans)
