Donghae x Reader x Eunhyuk
“Donghae I need you to do something for me,” your brother said in a shaky tone his hands shaking against his coffee mug, Donghae turned to face him.
“This is the first time you’ve asked me to do anything for you,” Donghae said, “you and your family’s done so much for me, how could I say no to you,” Donghae smiled.
“My sister, she’s quite younger than us,” he paused, “it’s just me and her you know, our parents are gone,” he tried to avoid what he knew he had to say, “I don’t know what’s going to happen to me, if something does happen I need you to take care of her please,” you brother pleaded with him, Donghae’s heart sank, “I’ve never asked you for anything before Donghae, please,” Donghae let out a sigh.
“You sound like you know you’re going to die,” Donghae said with a slight smile, your brother let out a heavy sigh, “I’ll make sure to take good care of her, if that’s what you want,” your brother let out a sigh of relief, he clasped his hands together bowing his head and thanking Donghae repeatedly.
“Where are you going,” Donghae asks not bothering to look up at you, you let out a heavy sigh, turning towards him.
“I’m going to see Hyukjae he offered to model for my project because someone else wouldn’t,” you complain, Donghae ignores the last part of your comment.
“Okay,” he pauses to look over at you, “make sure you don’t stay gone too long,” Donghae turns back to his book, “and try to make friends your own age don’t cling onto mine,” you let out a scoff.
“You’re the one that drives away all of my friends,” you snap before leaving, Donghae lets out a scoff himself glancing towards the door once you left.
“Thanks for helping me Hyukjae,” you beam once you’d gotten inside his car, Hyukjae hums, “how are you and Donghae friends?” You ask turning to face him, “he’s so rude,” you mutter crossing your arms, Hyukjae lets out a laugh.
“Donghae, me, and your brother were always close,” he pauses, “Donghae came from a poor family, but your brother took him in you know,” you cock your head to the side, “Donghae’s father left his mother when he was young, then her bakery started to lose business, he’s been through a lot,” Hyukjae explains letting out a heavy sigh afterward, “try to understand him, your brother and you is all he’s had most of his life,” Hyukjae glances over at you, you nod.
He pulls up to your studio walking around to open your door, you thank him, stepping out. The two of you walk into your studio silently, Hyukjae sits down on a chair while you grab your tape measure to measure him for the outfit.
“What exactly do I have to do for this project,” Hyukjae asks looking down at you while you measure him and write down the measurements.
“I need you to model for me, it should only take an hour at most once I finish the outfit, but you should try it on before we actually go out,” you rush out, “is that alright,” you ask looking up to meet his eyes, Hyukjae nods.
“Do you plan on being a designer in the future,” he asks cautiously, you nod, “what about the company, who’s going to take over after Donghae,” you shrug.
“I don’t care about the company, my brother left it to Donghae, maybe if he actually got out and met people he’d find a wife,” you complain, Hyukjae can’t help the laugh that passes his lips.
“That’s true, but he’s always busy, you should know you live with him, he never gets a break,” Hyukjae smiles, you roll your eyes.
“He’s always reading,” you mutter walking towards your fabrics, “you can leave if you don’t have time, I can work alone from here on,” Hyukjae nods, he takes hesitant steps towards the door.
“How are you getting home?” Hyukjae asks slowly, you smile gently.
“My friend Jongin,” you lie, “he’ll take me home,” you don’t want to trouble Hyukjae, Hyukjae nods waving to you before he leaves.
You turn music on and start to work, you don’t realize how much time passed while you worked on your design. You sigh looking out the window noticing it had gotten dark, you press the home button on your phone to check the time it was almost midnight. Donghae hadn’t called so you decided to work on the design a little longer. It was raining a little when you looked out the window, you’d wait until it stopped, then you’d leave.
You look at the clock and out the window again the rain had only gotten harder and it was one now. You decided it’d be best to call Donghae.
“What,” Donghae sounds angry, you look out the window.
“It’s raining,” you mutter, “my friend couldn’t take me home,” Donghae lets out a heavy sigh.
“Walk,” he ends the call afterward, you pull yourself up from your desk trying to hold in your tears, all you ever do is make him mad, that seems to be the only thing you are good at.
You don’t have a jacket and it is pouring, you are pretty sure you had gotten lost by this point as well, your house was quite far from your studio since your studio was close to the school and it took an hour to get to the school from your house by car. You wrap your arms around yourself the cold rain was contrasted by your hot tears, you miss your brother, You feel disorientated and dizzy after you had been walking for a while, you aren’t sure how long you have been walking, none of the buildings around you looked familiar. You sit down against the wall of one of the buildings, bringing your knees to your chest and burying your head in your hands, you can’t feel the rain anymore it feels numb, your clothes and hair are soaked. You can hear cars passing you, you hope that someone would help you, you don’t care who at this point.
“Get up,” Donghae’s voice rings out, you look up at him your body was shaking, “I told you to walk not sit out in the rain,” you cry more your head dropping back down.
“I didn’t know how to get home,” you choke out, “I thought I’d have to stay out here all night,” Donghae crouches down in front of you.
“Let’s go,” he says grabbing one of your arms, “I’ll call the doctor once we get home,” you nod standing up with his help.
You push open Donghae’s door hearing it bang against the wall afterward.
“Where are my birds,” you shout, Donghae puts his book down to look at you.
“I had Secretary Han get rid of them,” he says coldly, your heart breaks.
“My brother got me those, you cold-hearted jerk,” you cry out, clenching your fist, “bring them back,” Donghae thought back to before he went missing.
“I want to get her a really good birthday present this year, I’m sure she’ll love this one,” he said smiling, Donghae returned his smile.
“What did you get her,” Donghae asked curiously, your brother put a finger to his lips smiling.
“I don’t want her to find out,” Donghae nodded smiling.
“Those birds were the last thing he ever gave me,” you choke out, “why are you so awful to me,” you can’t stand to be in his room anymore, you can’t stand being in this house anymore.
“Where are you going?” Donghae asks his voice shaking tears were welling in his eyes while he watches you throw clothes into your suitcase.
“I don’t know,” you say wiping your tears, “I can’t take it, I can’t take being here with you anymore,” Donghae grabs your wrist, “let go,” you mutter trying to pull out of his grip, “do you hate me?” You whisper, “am I less than you because you own the company now, it was my brother’s company first,” Donghae makes you turn towards him.
“You can’t leave,” he says sternly, you look up to meet his eyes, they hold a look of fear, his bottom lip twitching and his hand that holds your wrist is shaking.
“Why, because you say so, you don’t own me Donghae, you’re not my family,” he let go once those words passed your lips.
