Day One
Today we arrived at Kathmandu. Mount Everest was as high as my plane! I met Andy Harris when I landed. He is a guide on Adventure Consultants. It will be both of our first times climbing to the summit of Mount Everest. He is from New Zealand and we got to spend a lot of time comparing our climbing notes. I really like Andy and I think he will be a close friend throughout this trip. Once I got to the hotel I was in awe. So many famous climbers had stayed there over the years. I felt so honored to be staying in the same hotel as these amazing people. There is where I met Rob Hall. I liked him a lot and he had a great sense of humor. Got to get a good night’s sleep tonight, tomorrow the adventure begins!
