Competitive Aerobatic Pilot
John Haag is a both a business advisor and a competitive aerobatic pilot. He lives and works in San Francisco, where he works as the Managing Partner for the firm CallisterHaag, which works with businesses throughout the United States on developing new solutions to problematic transitions and funding issues. Haag’s expertise as a venture capital investor and negotiator on behalf of many different companies during his time helps his clients remain solvent and avoid bankruptcy when times are dire. Somehow, in his spare time, Haag manages to train and compete as an aerobatic pilot.
Competition aerobatics is an official air sport in which judges rate the skill of pilots like John Haag in performing aerobatic flying. Most pilots fly piston-powered, single-engine airplanes, but some also fly gliders in these competitions. The International Aerobatic Club sanctions the top aerobatic pilots in the country and their competitions.. Each pilot enters a competition in a category of his or her choosing, which defines the level of difficulty of the aerobatic sequences flown by the pilots. Within each category, pilots fly one or sometimes multiple flight programs, on which their flying abilities are judged. In most competitions, each flight program receives official scores from the judges and the pilots are ranked according to their combined total scores for all of their programs.
John Haag still manages to compete from time to time and maintains his training in the skies above northern California
I think somebody forgot to mention to him that he was flying a freaking glider and shouldn't be able to do that.
