Review of AESTURA's ATOBARRIER365 Cream
AESTURA is a rebranding of a Korean company that released products to hospitals back in the 80's. Their ATOBARRIER365 Cream is designed with ceramides to help moisturize and strengthen the skin barrier. Key ingredients include: ceramide NP (nourishing, contains natural fatty acids, improves skin texture, adds suppleness), squalane (anti-inflammatory, reduces redness and swelling, doesn’t clog pores, moisturizing, antioxidant), allantoin (moisturizing, soothes irritation, promotes skin healing, smoothing), niacinamide (whitening, lightening, anti-aging, rejuvenating, anti-wrinkle), sphingolipids (helps maintain healthy skin barrier, prevents water loss, aids in the production of ceramides), tocopherol (strengthens skin, increases moisture, improves elasticity, moisturizing), and oleic acid (moisturizing, helps lock in the moisture, creates protective barrier on the skin). The cream is definitely dense and a little heavier.
The cream has these fun little capsule-type balls that break up when blended in.
This cream is deeply moisturizing, this is best for very dry and dehydrated skin.
Recommended use is to apply on clean, dry skin. There are visible capsules that melt into the skin. Gently press onto the face for enhanced absorption. After using, I enjoyed this moisturizer, this is definitely for dehydrated, parched skin. I think it’s far too heavy if you have normal/combo/oily skin. The texture is very cool as you can see these little balls but they break up immediately as you massage it into the skin. On top of that, a little goes a long way and I’ve barely made a dent in this even after using it on my face and neck. It’s also fragrance-free and very sensitive skin-friendly. I’d recommend this if you have very irritated dry skin, and also to people who live in drier climates.
What I like: it's deeply moisturizing, it's gentle and ideal for sensitive skin. Its really nice to use during the winter, especially if you live in a dry climate. The ingredients are great and there are no irritants and there's no fragrance. I can definitely see why this would be used in a clinical setting. What I don't like: nothing.
