AFCAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Technical, Non-Technical, Ground-Duty and Marital Status
The Indian Air Force administers the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The exam is given twice a year, in the months of February and August. This is for the purpose of selecting Class-I Gazetted Officers for Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical).
Candidates who are eager to join the Air Force now have the opportunity to give your dream wings by applying for the AFCAT Exam 2022 if you meet the AFCAT Eligibility Criteria. AFCAT 2022: Eligibility Criteria
(A) AGE Limit (as on 1st Jan 2023) :- We have listed the age requirements for candidates who want to apply for the flying branch below. The AFCAT is very particular about age limit criteria and thoroughly examines each candidate's document during the document verification round. Flying Branch:- The AFCAT flying branch eligibility has a minimum and maximum age limit, which applies to both male and female candidates.
(Candidates must have been born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2003.)
Ground Duty ( Technical and Non-Technical Branches )
Ground duty has different minimum and maximum age requirements than the flying branch. The age ranges listed below apply to both AFCAT technical and AFCAT non-technical eligibility.
(Candidate must have been born between January 2, 1997, and January 1, 2003.)
B. Education Qualification:-
(i) Flying Branch:- Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50 percent marks in Math and Physics at the 10+2 level.
1. A minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognised university, with a minimum of 60% or equivalent. OR
2. BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% or equivalent marks. OR
3. Candidates who have passed Section A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(ii) Ground Duty (Technical):-
Electronics in Aeronautical Engineering:-
Candidates must have a minimum of 50 percent marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a four-year degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognised university, OR they must have passed Sections A and B of the Associate Membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India, or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actuarial examination.
1. Instrumentation and Applied Electronics
2. Engineering in Communication.
3. Computer Science/Engineering/Technology
4. Computer Engineering and Application
5. Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology
AE (M): Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical):-
Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognised University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:
1. Aeronautical Engineering.
2. Aeronautical Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering).
3. Aviation Maintenance Engineering
4. Mechanical engineering
5. Mechatronics and Automation
(iii) Ground Duty (Non-Technical):-
Administration Branch:- Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent, or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Account Branch:- B.Com degree (3-year degree course) from a recognised university or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks.
1. A graduate degree (3-year degree programme) in any discipline with a grade point average of 60% from a recognised university or equivalent, OR
2. Passed section A and B of the Associate Membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% or equivalent.
Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50 percent marks in any discipline, including integrated courses offering PG (single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry), and Graduation with 60 percent marks in any discipline.
Passed 10+2 and Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% in aggregate of all papers combined (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55 percent marks in each).
C. Physical and Medical Requirements
Candidates are advised to be physically fit when reporting for the SSB in order to pass the AFSB tests. This section will go over the AFCAT eligibility requirements for both male and female candidates.
1. Candidates must be able to run one mile (1.6 kilometres) in ten minutes, do ten pushups, and three chin-ups.
2. Candidates are also advised to maintain good physical condition in order to adapt to the rigorous physical training at AFA, which includes swimming, rope climbing, running, and other forms of physical training.
3. Candidates will participate in other types of physical training, including mandatory tests during training.
1. Candidates applying under the age of 25 must be unmarried at the time the course begins.
2. Candidates who marry after the date of their application, even if they are successful at SSB or medical, will be ineligible to continue their training.
3. Those who marry during their training period will be barred from the board and must reimburse the government for all expenses incurred on their behalf.
4. Married candidates aged 25 and up are eligible to apply; however, during their training period or at the time of commencement, they will not be provided with married accommodation and will not be able to live with the family.
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria – Nationality
Candidates applying for AFCAT positions in the Indian Air Force must be Indian citizens. A candidate with a foreign nationality is ineligible to apply for the Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) positions.
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria-Number of Attempts
Candidates between the ages of 20 and 26 are eligible to participate in all attempts. The AFCAT exam is given twice a year. So a maximum of 16 attempts are permitted – 2 attempts per year for AFCAT (total of 8 attempts) and 2 attempts per year. Candidates may take the exam if they meet the eligibility criteria listed above, as well as the age limit criteria listed above in this blog.
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria- Experience
To apply for the AFCAT positions, no prior experience is required. Any fresher is eligible to apply for the Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) positions. Keep in mind that he meets all of the other eligibility requirements.
