A friend reached out to me yesterday. She's been following my Facebook posts, many of which are motivational posts regarding goal setting, exercising, self-improvement...She complimented my drive, how I manage to "fit" exercise into my day while working full-time, chauffering kids to various activities, volunteering for the school, etc. She feels like she doesn't have enough time in the day, even though she's unemployed (she was making fun of herself as she said this).
I started my journey toward a fitter me about 18 months ago, but it only kicked into high-gear about a year ago when my husband suggested I walk with another friend because she wanted to get in shape. I continued to walk (even after my friend stopped), eventually turning to lifting, and now I've started running. I have friends who get up a o'dark early to work out and I simply can't do that. I struggle to wrap my brain around working out at 4:40 in the morning. But, I can do sit-ups and push-ups to get my blood flowing first thing in the morning and I can workout when I get home and, if I look at my family calendar, I can schedule time for specific types of workouts.
Finding time for anything is seldom a successful quest. MAKING time is almost always a success.
My friend has decided to make fitness a priority. I hope I can continue to motivate her!
