A charity in South Africa is trying to raise £100,000 through a crowdfunding website to land aprobe on the Moon.
The Africa2Moon project has faced criticism for its lofty ambitions, given the more immediate problems facing people on the continent, but organisers hope that it will inspire a generation of engineers and scientists.
Africa’s first Moon mission will help to stem the brain drain that robs Africa of one in nine university graduates, the website claims. (Read more...)
