As you guys might know, Iām working on an aftg tv script and would like to try to make it as collaborative with the fandom as much as possible. So hereās a few questions Iāve built up over the last few months of having this show kill me over and over because I canāt decide anything for shit.Ā
1) Time setting. Would it be cool to set everything in the early 2000ā²s? Walkmans and Ipod classics, flip phones and cringey fashion? I feel like this would be really awesome, if done well. But thatās the thing. Itās hard to pull off, because weāre not talking the 20ā²s or 60ā²s or 80ā²s. Though there is a certain aesthetic to the 2000ā²s, itās not a jarringly obvious aesthetic. (Also wouldnāt really be able to use the music that I was planning on using cause most of them came out after early 2000ā²s so thatās a slight bummer)Ā
2) Should the Exy goal have a net? Shush okay, Iām actually struggling with this. Apparently the goal doesnāt have a net? It doesnāt even have bars? It just lights up red when the ball passes the box but like?? Nets are more dramatic, no? Honestly, I have many Exy questions. If somebody wants to tell me their version of it, what the court looks like, what the shape of the pexiglass is like, if itās played on grass like football or wood like basketball or whichever, feel free to lemme know.Ā
3) Bringing in the Trojans early. I want to introduce the Trojans into the first season, or at least some other team that will provide as a sort of fuel/comparison as to how much the Foxes need to improve. For the moment, the pace for season one is lacking. Since thereās so much exposition, the action is sometimes lost or cut too short.Ā
4) Foxes Class 1 status on the line?Ā Linking into pace and action, would it be okay to kind of alter the purpose on the first season a little bit. I know weāre very focused on Neil and how heās co-habiting with the Foxes and keeping his secrets secret, but I still feel like something else needs to be in jeopardy, something else needs to be added that make it more dramatic and exciting. This isnāt really a question but a suggestion?Ā
5) Matt and Dan not being a couple yet? Hold it hold it, hear me out. I know this is probably a big change okay, but listen. I think the season needs this: Matt trying to woo Dan, who as we have been told used to be a bit of a man hater because of her last job. This wouldnāt necessarily be an entire new subplot, but I think it adds a bit more texture and diversity to the narrative?? Iām hoping for them to be established as a couple by the end of season 1, or at least closer to the beginning of season 2.Ā
6) Kevin and Rikoās tattoos. Roman numerals or no? I feel like this is that small detail that I definitely would have to ask Nora about (not that I wouldnāt ask her about everything else, of course I would ask her everything else too) if this were to go into production. But just as a point of curiosity, what do you guys think?Ā
