Far off if you followed the worn path, went down the craggy hill, passed the winding river and its nearby wishing well, went north of the aging oak and east of the vast clary fields, there was a small house.
A little stone home with a roof covered in grass and vines, it was a wonder it never burned down with how often puffs of smoke could be seen rising from its chimney. It laid nestled underneath wild cherry trees so dense that even on the brightest summer days light would only barely filter through, leaving the home crisp and comfortable. And during the long winter nights, it was as though the cold never touched it. The light casting from small window panes was always warm and inviting calling you in for a hot mug of broth.
The owner of the said house didn't quite match the visions one would have when picturing an owner of that house. He was short and wore a resting scowl, his brow pinched together and eyes sharp like they could cut you. He had a crude way with words and wasn't afraid to use them, but he understood all too well the treasures found in a silent room and the meaningful moments one could have just by being near another.
He also knew his way around a broom. In more ways than one.
This is something I've been playing with for a long, long time. It's gone through several different versions, and I think I like this one the most (even though it's the shortest shkjgshjk). It's a small snippet of what would be an ereri Witch AU situation of some sort? I'm not 100% sure where it's going, but since Halloween is tomorrow and all my hopes of finishing the other Halloweenie type things I have are dashed, this is all I have to offer please take this.
