Earlier today, the whole team agreed we should all meet up at the Art Gallery of NSW, it made sense since our project was regarding this gallery. Getting a feel of the space and how it would tie in with our project plans we crafted.
Visiting the gallery again, made me feel nostalgic, as the last time I came to this gallery I was in my final year of highschool for my visual arts class, feeling inspired and hope my final major project would make it in here. Everything came to full circle I guess. Unfortunately, we were a day late to visit the Art Express 2016 exhibition, but nevertheless, it was a good refreshing experience coming in, for a different reason as opposed to working on an art major.
While roaming the gallery, I couldn’t help but realise the tours and different groups that were in the gallery, I saw had primary school, high school students and elderly group tours going on. It made me realise that art has no limits and being at the gallery can inspire and interest demographics of any age. The Art Gallery of NSW has exhibitions that is not tailored for a specific demographic, making it universal and interesting to anyone. These tours inspire and stimulate anyone who as the love of art can come at any age.
With the endless opportunities and inspirations that comes from art, it makes me appreciate and think of the potential is has when explored and reached to an even larger audience, to those who would not normally visit art galleries. Which we hope to showcase and successfully deliver for our group presentation in class.
