Mini Update

Hi everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I posted on this blog lol!

I’m still currently caught in querying purgatory with my manuscript, sending it out to a couple of book agents a week. I’ve had one request for a full manuscript so far so I’m not gonna give up yet!

I also impulsively started writing another book! I’m about 20k words in already and having a BLAST with it so I might post more about it soon👀

If I get more news on the publishing front I’ll be sure to share!

I didn’t give up though. And either should you. Quite by accident, I found this fantastic community that critiques query letters AND gives connections to agents. They honed my skills, and got me my first agent. And my second.

omg Every time I find an agent I really want to query, I get super uber nervous and procrastinate and check their submission guidelines like five times at least and format the query and the email and then check the guidelines again and then worry that I didn't do it right even when I follow the instructions down to the letter and then I wait so long that my email saves itself as a draft and then I procrastinate and panic and probably hit send like twenty minutes or more after I actually wrote the damn thing. And this time I'm still in the early procrastination and worry phases. Dang it, I just want to query her already but I can't.

Drowning in Slush: Shark Attack

I overdosed on query shark. One hundred posts in less than 24 hours. My left eye is twitching.

Read a post, tweak my query, doubt the wisdom of the change. Read, tweak, doubt, read, tweak, doubt, read, get coughed on all night by a three-year-old, tweak...Wait where was I? 

The process has turned my brain to mush.

Good News: My query is completely transformed.

Bad News: I don't know if it's better.

I'll take the shark's advice and sit on it for a while. At least, until coherent thought returns.
