Valerie hadn’t been kidding when she’d warned Danielle that she was prone to nightmares, and true to form, in the middle of the night, sometime right about two in the morning, Valerie began to toss and turn, caught in the throes of a terrible dream. It was bad enough that it did actually wake her house guest.

Valerie gasped awake with a pained, strangled cry just as her guest had come to check on her, and at first there was no recognition in the terrified eyes that flashed bright blue in the pitch black room. Valerie jerked back, lifting her arms in a defensive gesture as she tried to lurch away from the face lit up by the glow of her own eyes, she found herself toppling over the edge of her bed. 

Still somewhat caught in the realm half between the waking world and the world of nightmares, Valerie curled up on the floor, her arms over her head as defensive electricity slithered over her form to protect her from the perceived threat, nonsensical pleading words spilling from her lips.

Clockwork blinks as Dani’s finger makes contact with his cheek. Then, with absolutely no further hesitation — he gently pokes the girl back in her own face with a small smile. “Boop.”
