I'm not asking this as a gotcha, I'm sincerely wanting to know your thoughts because you seem like a fairly thoughtful guy: After (correctly) savaging Republicans for supporting Kavanaugh through serious, credible rape allegations, on the grounds that even if they liked his policy positions and experience, it was immoral to elevate a rapist, how can we then rally around a candidate when we have equally solid evidence that he's a rapist too? How do we address the party downplaying that?

Okay so this is tough because I fully believe we should listen to women when they share their stories. Having a close friend who was falsely accused, and seeing what those false accusations did to his life and the lives of those around him, I will *listen* and consider evidence, fairly. 

We do not have anywhere *close* to “equally solid evidence” that Biden did any of the things he was accused of doing, the way we do with all the things Trump did, or the accusations against Kavanaugh. Remember that Kavanaugh was protected, and a full investigation of the claims about his behaviour, including testimony from another alleged victim, were all ignored or suppressed. Even with that obvious cover-up, there’s a TON of evidence and testimony to support the accusations against him. I believe that he’s a monster, an abuser, unfit for SCOTUS. 

I’ve followed the accusation against Biden closely, and I don’t believe it. 

When Ronan Farrow, who I trust more than just about anyone else in journalism, looks into accusations and can’t find evidence to support allegations against Biden, I’m inclined to doubt the veracity of those allegations. 

So I think it’s important to keep listening, and to be open to new evidence and testimony about this allegation, but I’m telling you right now that just like Burisma and whatever bullshit they try to say about Biden and China, this is going to be used to distract and divide an electorate that needs to be singularly focused on taking America back from Trump and his *credibly accused* abusers.

they tried to have a real fire, it ended up smoking out the whole house, so they cut the stream for a few minutes to fix it, and when they came back they had deliberately done the soot/hair thing for comic effect

oh no. my first thought was they did it for aesthetic or comedic reasons without there being an actual fire. it’s good they were able to air it out and come back okay though.
