From Tenten @shinndo
I just realized I haven't thrown Tenten at you yet!!! Catch!
"Well usually I come up with an outlandish story of how I got it, or just tell my students that I was born with it, and that it's always been there." They absolutely hated it too.
"It's not some big secret either. I just like keeping a bit of mystery around it. Similar to how everyone speculates about what is under Kakashi-san's mask."

" I was only gone for a minute, Koa. "
Any scolding that might have tinged her response melted with the Gerudo's warm smile and soft laugh. She held her hand out to her. " We should head back to camp, though. It's getting dark. "

Under the cut because it's bound to get long lmao
Do the other companions have special comments or reactions upon recruiting your Tav?
[HM. Let's see if I can come up with specific lines. Or something adjacent to what each of them might say when she joins the camp.
Astarion: Odd. You would think among all the green and brown in that wretched grove, I would have noticed a druid as striking as her. That red hair of hers doesn't exactly blend in to the surrounds. (When corrected she isn't a druid despite her borrowed clothing, he'll sigh rather dramatically in relief). Ugh, thank the gods. One nature lover will certainly be far too much in this camp as it is.
Karlach: Hey, hey! Another woman who looks like she can really pack a wallop to these cultists, eh? Quite the name she's got, though. Nah-Boo-roo? Did I pronounce that right? Be real embarrassing if I can't even say her name...
Gale: Here I thought I was far from my home in Waterdeep, but being displaced from a land as far-flung as Hyrule must be quite disconcerting, especially when, I imagine, the denizens of her homeland are as ignorant of Faerûn as we are of Hyrule. Even I have only read it mentioned here and there in a tome or two. Perhaps she will allow me to pick her brain on the subject at a later time...
Wyll: Judging by her physique and how she helped save a bear while ignorant of its true nature at her own peril, I believe Nabooru will make a fine addition to this rag-tag team of misfits we're assembling. I can't say I know much about Hyrule or the Gerudo, but the more the merrier, and with the way things are shaping up for us from the tadpoles to a cult of zealots, we'll need all the help we can get here.
Lae'zel: Even from a distance, I can see she proudly carries the spirit of a warrior. I know not what a Gerudo is, and I imagine her skill will still pale significantly in comparison to myself or my kin, but I look forward to seeing her prowess in combat. Only then will I truly be able to assess if she is a boon to this team or simply more dead weight.
Shadowheart: Well, it seems we can't seem to avoid taking in more strays who found themselves infected with a mindflayer tadpole. I question her judgement in trusting a bear or bothering to rescue it when she likely could have made a quieter escape, but I suppose there is a fine line between courage and stupidity. If she is will spare the rest of us in taking on dangerous stunts, it will at least save us the trouble.]
What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval?
[Nabooru probably runs on the general "don't be a dick unless it's warranted" approval/disapproval scheme. Standing up for people obviously being abused/oppressed will always go over well with her, as will laying into those doing the said abuse/oppressing. She will also approve of people genuinely trying to get to know her as a person even if she puts up a front that she's all business. She will also approve of those who take tackling the Shadow Curse and helping Halsin seriously because even though she would absolutely bail with Halsin if they refused to deal with the curse at all, someone else showing they can think of more than a singular goal and address bigger picture issues that may not be relevant to them is a plus for her (this probably honestly can be extended to other character storylines since some aren't directly related to the task at hand). She will also big approve of people who show patience with her magic trauma as well as her general lack of knowledge of Faerûn and are willing to help her with it. This is also linked to her trauma with mind control, and she'll approve of those who show compassion when this rears its head.
Disapproval will obviously be opposites of this: mistreating people already hurting/oppressed if not hurting or oppressing innocent people themselves; people who treat her like an object, especially in a sexual sense, without feelings, thoughts of her own, etc.; those that only focus on their own needs and refuse to help any of the others in the party with their endeavors; people who are impatient with either her trauma with magic her her unfamiliarity with the region and treat her like she's weak or unintelligent for it, respectively; and those that diminish when she gets extra nervous/finicky/irritable over the idea of being put under mind control again (this is very likely to happen the closer they get to Moonrise, for example). Over reliance on gods in over the top ways will always get her disapproval, and attempts to get her to be "accepting" of the level of devotion people like Shadowheart and Lae'zel have for Shar and Vlaakith respectively will tack on more disapproval. Oh, and not taking the threat of the Absolute/the Dead Three seriously in any way, especially siding with them, will also get you disapproval for obvious reasons but also because she is convinced this would spread much further than Faerûn.
I can't think of anything else specifically. Like I said: basically, just don't be a douche and she'll get along with you, generally.]
Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
[Nabs is pretty chill for the most part, but there are a few things that will get her to leave the party.
Attacking the Grove. Now, I know my timeline is a little different, but it still leaves space for the Grove to be attacked by Minthara and the goblins since Nabooru and Halsin escape before dealing with the leaders. So, if she joined the party and they decided they want to help Minthara, she's out and will actively join the tieflings (and maybe druids in this case since Halsin will be back to lead them) to fight against them.
Refusing to help with the Shadow Curse. Nabooru takes her promises seriously, and she intends to make good on her promise to help Halsin lift the curse in exchange for his kindness, aid, and offering her sanctuary when she actually could have been dangerous with the parasite in her head. Basically, if the party just says they're not doing it or they just let it fall completely to the wayside, she will leave when it becomes obvious they do not intend to help him and/or opt to remain with Halsin to find a way to lift it (the latter MIGHT be able to be held off until a post game decision since Halsin would very likely try to convince her to go along to get the tadpole out of her head so she can go home, but she's stubborn and might not go for it).
Related to not taking the threat seriously, you side with the Absolute/Dead Three in a meaningful capacity. Little actions like crossing your fingers behind your back while telling Gortash you'll take over the world with him? Mostly fine. You might get approval and a talking to for clarification later, but as long as you say it's for strategic reasons, she'll be fine. But actions that accumulate and suggest selfish or intent aligned with the Dead Three or the Absolute or even trying to take up the mantle themselves after taking care of them are also going to make her dip and fight against the party ultimately.]
Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game? Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
[As of now, I don't really think so. Her arc is "I need to get home" which means dealing with the parasite. But this also gets extended to dealing with the cult and Dead Three because she fears if it's not dealt with, it would absolutely extend to Hyrule. Likely, it would end up something tied with helping the refugees. Maybe someday I'll think of something else, but as of now, with her not being from there, it's hard to incorporate her own side quest.]
What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp? How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again?
[When asked to stay at camp (you can't really boss her around but in the spirit of the game mechanic...): Heh, that's a great joke.....Oh, you're serious? Tch, fine. I give you five minutes before you change your mind, though. I'm sure I can find something to occupy me...
When asked to come adventurin' again: Finally. I was beginning to go stir crazy. Lead on, then.]
Will they stay with the Player Character regardless of siding with the goblins or the tieflings, or is it possible for them to leave the party permanently?
[Kind of already touched on. If they side against the Grove/the tieflings, there is no way she would travel with them/stay in the party. She has principles.]
Is it possible for your Tav to be kidnapped and replaced by Orin? How is Orin's deception revealed? How do they react to the PC rescuing them in the Temple of Bhaal?
[Oh, absolutely. I don't go by the mechanics anyway because this is RP and it doesn't make sense to, but even if I did she would be on the chopping block.
The way it would be revealed would be the party returning to camp and finding "Nabooru" holding the man she punched in the face for being gross about the refugees hostage (I forget his name, but he's with a group of other Baldurians yelling at a fist about it; you can make fun of his accent as one of the options and tell him he doesn't sound like he's from the city or something). When approached, she tells them that she couldn't just let him get away with just a punch. None of them should be allowed to just walk free for such disgusting behavior, for villainizing innocent people displaced by this overly zealous cult, and that words will always somehow turn into action either directly or indirectly. She's seen it in Hyrule against her own people, and she won't let it happen here.
After her spiel, she would slit the man's neck and announce him the first of many to have their blood spilled for justice. And at that point is probably when Orin would reveal herself and tell her how she's taken Nabooru and all that jazz.
When she's rescued, she's likely going to be upset she let Orin get her hands on her anyway, but she'll definitely be grateful to the PC and co. for rescuing her and not leaving her to the whims of the Bhaalists. She might also insist she probably would have found a way out somehow, but she's glad they considered her important enough to save.]
How does Tav react to the PC becoming a mind flayer? Can they offer to become one themselves? Does their reaction change if they’re romanced?
[She would definitely not offer; I can say that for sure. She is very much repulsed by the idea of even potentially being under the control of some other being, and what she's learned is that a mind flayer can potentially always be leashed by an elder brain.
As far as her reaction to the PC becoming the mind flayer themselves, she would trust their judgement. Would probably be sad and worried for them, but she would respect them deeply for making that sacrifice for the greater good. Her opinion would not change if they were romanced; she can still love a mind flayer for sure! That's still her boo!]
How do they react when the Dark Urge first reveals their amnesia and murderous thoughts to them?
[I think it would depend on how they reveal it. If they do it in such a way that suggests they despise the thoughts and uncontrolled actions that come with it, she would be sympathetic and be supportive of helping them fight the urges. After all, she understands to some degree: when under Twinrova's spell, she was absolutely murdering, pillaging, and torturing people against her will. She wouldn't want anyone to pin her as a killer when she was not in control of her own actions, so she couldn't in good conscience do it to someone else.
If they aren't remorseful and revel in the killing, she would absolutely not support them and it might be on sight. She would deem them too dangerous to all of them and vehemently suggest they kill them. If no one else agrees, she will attempt it herself. Their success in the mission is too important to her, not just so she can return to her people, but also because she cannot bear the idea of becoming a thrall or mind flayer enslaved to the will of another. She will not stand for someone within the party threatening to derail that with their lust for violence.]

[Nabooru, Lae'zel, and Karlach become dedicated sparring partners (I can see Wyll joining them on occasion, too; I also envision her trying to teach Gale and maybe Halsin how to be more effective with their staves or some shit). You can't convince me they don't. Nabs and Astarion argue about the best way to be sneaky and thief-y. She let's Gale yap about whatever he wants for as long as he wants because, even if she doesn't understand what he's saying, she admires his passion for knowledge and learning and his craft, and she'll share info about Hyrule with him if he asks. She talks battle strategy with Wyll a lot, and he gets annoyed that she sucks at sleeping. I know it's part of her romance, but Nabs would absolutely try and teach Shadowheart how to swim throughout the adventure in their down time.
Platonically or romantically, she spends the most time with Halsin because she trusts him most, but also because, as mentioned, she sucks at sleeping. Thus, she spends her sleepless nights with Halsin or Astarion after they've done their meditation. She takes a lot of watches with the former but he also tends to be the one to track her down when she wanders off at night to just enjoy a different kind of nature than that of the desert while she can. She absolutely swiped his pipe off his desk when he didn't grab it before they left and gave it to him when they started on the road, and she'll pick up books for him when she sees one he might like. Maybe asks him to tell her about it when he finishes it/as he's reading it. But also like Gale, she will let him yap to her about nature and druid stuff or his life if he'll open up about it and she brings him all kinds of questions about the environs or just random shit that pops in her head. And she'll tell him about the different monsters and whatnot in Hyrule and about her horsey and the Helmaroc King they're raising and pick his brain about desert horticulture or something.]

@ahvyz // @shinndo sent a prompt!! :: SYMBOL HEADCANON QUESTIONS.
Headcanons. Lenny Sato Edition.
🫥 : How often do they pretend to be fine to keep the peace?
Lenny does this all the time. She hates confrontation and usually runs away from conflict. She usually doesn't tell people what is bothering her and will keep her emotions bottled up until she can't anymore. Then she will most likely tell someone. Or, if it's something that really hurts her feelings, she will go off and cry quietly somewhere by herself.
Headcanons. Haruka Mitsukuni Edition.
🧩 : what part of themselves do they not understand yet?
There is a lot about herself that Haruka struggles to understand. Usually in regards to her emotions and how strong they can be. For years, her emotions were suppressed, so she's still learning a lot about each of her emotions and how to react to each one. Sometimes her emotions can be overwhelming and they can cause her to lash out and get angry or sad. She is also still struggling to cope with all of the bad things she's done in her life as well.
🧱 : what walls are they aware of building? which ones are they not aware of?
Haruka is aware of all of the walls she is building. Each wall is a defense mechanism, a way of protecting herself. She builds these walls as a way of pushing people away, because if you keep people at a distance, they can't hurt you.
Headcanons. Anna Suzuki Edition.
🕳️ : what do they spiral about at night?
Most of the time, at night, when she's laying in bed trying to sleep she will think about her past trauma. She will think about her mother's death and how she wished there was more she could do. She will think about her time in the orphanage and as a member of the Root and the abuse she suffered due to both.
🧨 : what pushes them past the point of restraint?
Anna's emotions tend to be what can push her past the point of restraint. Her abilities rely heavily on her emotions and how she's feeling. It doesn't take much for her to lose control and hurt someone on accident.
Headcanons. Reina Kitagawa Edition.
⚖️ : what line will they never cross?
Reina is the type of person who will always do what she believes is right and would never do something that would go against her beliefs and morals. For example, if one of her teammates was in trouble, she would help them. Even if she was told not to, because you don't leave teammates behind.
