I think the history of therianthropy is so cool, and i’d love to speak to a past member of Alt.Horror.Werewolves.
Also, the names involved are sick. Ron Werebat?? Are you kidding me???

Happy birthday to the cradle of our community: Alt Horror Werewolves !
This site was created on November 16, 1992, 32 years ago, if I'm not mistaken.
It was a forum for werewolf fans, whose conversations oriented towards these feelings that we now call theriantropy.
Happy birthday A.H.W.W. !
I highly recommend reading up on the early history of the community, which takes place in this place, it's really interesting!
Hey therians of Tumblr! I've not made one of these posts before, but if you have clinical lycanthropy/zoanthropy or just want to support our neurodivergent friends, please block this person!
They commented this (under my comment) under a tiktok post that was saying that you shouldn't demonize these disorders and that they shouldn't be ridiculed for what they can't control.
1. That's not the only thing people say to them. 2. Why are you throwing your fellow people with a disability under the bus?
Idk if I'm overreacting but this was definitely not nice to see from a big creator. Let's not exclude members of our community that have been around since the AHWW days!
Folks. While I'm on the AHWW archive, I am increasingly inclined to believe that they were describing shifting animal-heartedness, and not much therianthropy.
Read this:
Physical Therianthropy has been defined as the ability to shift from human to animal form and back again. Spiritual Therianthropy, then, is the ability to mentally transform from the normal human mode of thinking and reacting to an animal one. Each one of us identifies with an animal whose characteristics we feel reflect our own. For example, I feel strongly attracted to both the wolf and the cougar... one is a pack animal, truly comfortable only in a group setting, relying on its packmates for everything. The other is a solitary hunter, only meeting others of its kind to mate. I feel that there are aspects of both animals in my psyche.
Spiritual therianthropy means mental shifting? 🤔
Identifying WITH is the point of otherhearted, when theranthropes identify AS, isn't it THE definition? 🤨
Characteristics reflecting our own. Again, it's about relating to the animal. This example looks like it's picking on personality traits, not exact animalistic experiences. Person is extroverted = relating to pack animals. Introverted = relating to solitary animals. Isn't it an otherhearted moment again? When therians are more on the identifying AS the animal, where it's not important - relate you to the species characteristics or or not. You simply ARE, and you can be different from the characteristics. A wolf therianthrope can be introverted, and don't let anyone to put your mind in a box of stereotypes.
So what would you say? The original therian source AHWW is right? Or the history changed to create new aspects?

Dr. Fable pushes his twin sister towards Tenebris with a sneaky mistletoe hanging above them. He runs to safety before Sable could choke him.
@bellevuesanitarium (Twins)
*The Queen blinks upon seeing the scene, feeling her cheeks get a bit redder as Sable is pushed in front of her.
Despite being quite some time since they had seen each other, Tenebris can't help but feel her heart race.
And THEN, she notices the mistletoe, which makes her hair puff out slightly*
Oh- I...Oh da-darling...
*Babbling a little, she finally manages to point a finger towards the mistletoe, taking a step closer to Sable.*
I.. I'll help you pin him somewhere, but let's bot harm him...just use some pillows.. you're good at it after all~
*The Queen then gently cups her face and gives her a kiss as expected by the tradition.
But oh lord her heart can almost be heard from outside for how much it's beating right now.*
Love you.
I love you, too. ♡

Otherkin Pride!
Keeping it simple, we don’t need a ‘pride’ day. We are not part of the LGBT+ community inherently.
Therians and Otherkin do have community holidays though. These weren’t made as ‘pride days’ and were made completely separately from the LGBT+ community. Information sourced from either The Therian Wiki, my own knowledge or PD PinkDolphin on Instagram.
Therianthropy Day: Therianthropy day 2019 is on the 12th of November. It is held on the first full moon of November each year. This has always been an important day for Therians, as the first howl (Therian Meet) back in November of 1994 was held here. This first Howl was organised by members of Alt.Horror.Werewolves.
On November 7, 1993, a Bat-identified person on AHWW spoke of their dreams of being a bat and how they felt like a bat, which is considered the starting point of modern-day Therianthropy.
The group AHWW was also created a year earlier on November 16th. All of this combined makes November a very important date for Therians.
While there is no ‘official’ way to celebrate it, Therianthropy Day is meant to encourage the acknowledgement of our history and the spread of accurate information, as well as a day to recognize the Greymuzzles from AHWW who founded the online community.
Building friendships with other Therianthropes is a large part of Therianthropy Day as it commemorates the first Howl, a social meeting for Therians. This can be done through playing games, chatting with one another and irl meet-ups if possible.
Otherkin Day: Otherkin day is on the 9th of July each year. This is the day in which the term “otherkin” was coined in the Elfinkind Digest. In 1990 on this day, one participant used the term “otherkin” to describe people who identify as other nonhuman creatures and it caught on.
This date seems to be missing a lot of information as the only source I can find for it is from Orion Scribner, the author of the Theri-There comic. They were linked to by the Therian Wiki as a source for the date, yet their original post has been deleted and was only accessible via the Wayback Machine, which still held little info. The cause for deletion related to this date is unknown by me.
If you have more information about this particular date, please add on. I have heard many Therians and Otherkin mention this date as a valid date, yet have no idea where the information has went.
