I’m all for the idea of selkies being magical creatures that are seals in the sea and human on land when they shed their coat, but it’s a little boring if they always look like pale, beautiful humans. With that in mind, Slugterra selkies shed their seal coat, but retain their colouring and markings in human form, as well as the skin texture. Also sharp nails and teeth, along with big dark eyes and freckles where her whiskers would be.

Remember what I said about a Slugterra selkie? Her name is Aileas and she loves to sing and chat with people who come near the jetty she lives not far from. She also enjoys playing with Aquabeeks and exploring the undersea environments of Slugterra, but steers clear of ships and boats and other unnatural nautical constructions because they frighten her. Her "dress" is a sheet wrapped twice around her and tied on with seaweed. She has yet to ever lose her coat.
