My Hi Power project has taken a long time to finally complete, but we are there! I picked up this FN Belgium Mark 2 Hi Power that was manufactured in 1985 from @aimsurplus about a year and a half ago. Here is what has been done: Dave from @defensivecreations installed the Jim Garthwaite trigger into it along with replacing the firing pin retaining plate that broke during my initial testing. This trigger is such a MASSIVE upgrade over the stock trigger even with the magazine disconnect removed. The break might be the cleanest and best break of any trigger I have on any gun. The reset, while still long due to the mechanism of the gun, is still improved with less distance to reset. It has G10 @vzgrips in battleship gray. The grips are in their palm swell type, which I think I will be changing out to thinner grips eventually. I personally cerakoted the frame black. It eventually needs redone by a professional, but it works for now. I had the slide, barrel, and some internal parts PVD coated in AlTiN by @kandmblasting. I wanted to keep all the original pitting, scratches, dents, etc to show off the original character of the gun. I’m a big fan of @aimsurplus parts. In my first two builds I used their nickel boron bolt carrier groups in them without issues. To me you get the best bang for the buck with their parts.
