“Can’t confirm it’s snake specifically, but it does appear to be some variety of reptile leather.”
“Why... is it on the stock of that grenade launcher?”
“Uh... dunno. It’s another Dark Age piece from el Drifter’s collection. Lotta funny stuff from back then. Remember when Efrideet was handing out those old guns made out of pipes and held together with bits of hide?”
“Yeah, but this isn’t made of scrap. This is pretty high-quality production, especially for the Dark Age. Either it’s a salvaged Golden Age model somebody worked on, or it’s a whole custom job. Impressive one way or the other. So why would it have a bit of goddamn snakeskin—”
“Unverified reptile leather...”
“—strapped to the stock?”
“Uh... for style? You seen the pelts Drifter wears on his shoulders? Come to think of it, Shaxx wears pelts too, and of course Saladin’s got that big fur collar. Maybe these Dark Age old-timers are just big on animal skins.”
“Wearing leather is one thing. Sticking it on a gun is entirely something else... and it just ain’t right.”
“What difference does it make? Thing still shoots, yeah?”
