Aikatsu! English dub idea

HI guys :D. So as we all know, the Aikatsu franchise is kind of failing big time right now

But Maybe the franchise can return to it’s former success with the help of an english dub! It makes sense! A whole new country (Maybe multiple if you count the UK and maybe Austraila) can experience what a great show Aikatsu is! (Or at least was). Sense the show is mostly aimed at young girls, maybe it can find more success with a whole new audience in America or in other english speaking countries.

So here are my ideas for the names. We’ll be starting with the OG Aikatsu, but if you think they should start with a different series lemme know. (May or may not contain spoilers!) I’ll try to continue this. I’ll also add extra notes.

Ichigo gen names:

Ichigo Hoshimiya: Stella Berry (Nickname will be “Starberry”. And Stella from being a “Natural born star” And her sun motif since the sun is also a star, ETC. The aikatsu wiki will give more Eytmology details). Berry as reference to original name “Ichigo” which means strawberry

Aoi Kiriya: Amy Waterson (Water is blue, there’s also her aquarius coord, aquarius is the “Water carrier”

Ran Shibuki: Rana Shaunson (I’m on the fence about this one. I’ve also been thinking of “Violet” as a first name, referencing her theme color)

Otome Arisugawa: Olivia “Ollie” Joy (Joy is a synonym for happy. A nod towards “Happy Rainbow”

Yurika Todo: Lilith Stoker (Lilith is the name of a demon, also comes from the lily flower, which is what her japanese name means. Her last name is from Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, her character is a descendant of Dracula, though I think Loli Gothic’s brand designer  could have the last name Stoker, I’m not sure. I was also thinking of “Erika” Since it’s also a flower and closer to her japanese name).

Sakura Kitaouji: Sakura/ Flora Bell (Bell from “Tinkerbell”, the famous fairy. Her brother’s name could be Flynn. I chose to have her keep Sakura as her name in the dub since it’s a well known japanese name, so it might not be too unfamiliar to american kids.)

Kaede Ichinose: Trixie Maplewood (Trixie from “Magic tricks” which is her specialty. Maplewood from her japanese name “Kaede” meaning maple, which was a reference to her theme color, orange). 

Mizuki Kanzaki: Luna King (Luna for her moon motif. And King from her Japanese name, as well as a reference to her status as Top idol).

Seira Otoshiro: Sara Stone (Sara is similar to Seira. Stone is a synonym for rock. A nod to her love of rock music).

Kii Saegusa: Kiki Green (Kiki from her Japanese name. Green as a reference to her theme color. since her OG name contains the character “Gusa” meaning grass is a nod to her theme color. Taking ideas for a different surname).

Sora Kazesawa: Skyler Rivers( Skyler from her brand name. I kind of want her to have a bohemian or ethnic surname. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, it can be common. Lemme know for some surname ideas!)

Maria Himesato: Maria/Marie Prince. (She’ll keep her OG name, or have something close to it. Prince from her princess motif.Or her last name could be “Tale” from Fairytale).

Mitsushi Orihime: Marilyn Orihime/Orion(I need some ideas for a surname, I’m a little stumped on her last name. Maybe Orion? It’s somewaht similar to her OG name and Orion is a constellation, as a reference to Starlight academy. Marilyn from Marilyn Monroe, a famous, Iconic  50s actress whose still well known today. As a reference to   when she was in Masquerade , A unit who took the idol world by storm. Her idol name could have been “Mary” or “Lynn”).

Johnny Bepp: Johnny Bepp/Bop. He’ll keep his full name, but his surname could be changed to something like “Bop” or “beat”.

Ringo Hoshimiya: Rosa Berry. Her stage name in “Masquerade” Could be “Rosie” or “Rose”.

Raichi/Laichi Hoshimiya: Richie Berry. His name is translated to Raichi, despite it most likely being Laichi, since he wears a shirt with an L on it. But since It’s prounounced Raichi we’ll just change it to Richie due to similarity.

Extra notes: 

1. Spicy Ageha will be changed to Spicy Agrias. Since it’s similar to Ageha, and  The Agrias butterfly is a speices of butterfly, go look it up.

2. Songs will be dubbed  to have rhyming lyrics.

3. While it’s never really clear as what town the girls are located in, the dub will give names to the towns. The town that Starlight academy and Dream academy are located will be called “Melody town” Since the girls usually sing for their Idol Activities

4. The anime will be called “Idol Activities” Or “Idacts” Or “Idoltivities”.

5. At the end of the first season (Spoilers) Stella will travel to Japan or the west coast. Preferably Japan since the dub is supposed to take place in America, and the show is based on Japanese idols.

6. Kaede will be from either Texas or New York.

AiPare Episode 6

Okay, I really did not like this episode AT ALL. However, I liked it at the same time because it showed the dark side of fans, which is relevant to fans in reality. If someone does something wrong with someone’s favorite idol, no matter how minimal it is, the fans usually hate them, which is seen in this episode. Raki got so much hate just for accidentally-yes, ACCIDENTALLY-interrupting S4′s performance and not knowing who they were. I might have forgotten something, but I think this is the darkest episode in Aikatsu history, at least to me. What shocked me even more was the fact that Tsubasa was PISSED. Yes Raki did interrupt the performance but Yuzu covered for her and Raki literally did not mean to do it-it’s just where the door led her. I feel like it would have been better if Tsubasa was kind yet serious-being nice to Raki while saying that she understood it was an accident but she did almost ruin the concert. Then she would do the “punishment time” and “reward time”. It did not need to be that grave. It was weird how Tsubasa went from super pissed to normal and happy afterwards. Also, it’s not like that was the only S4 concert where people from all over showed up. They get people like that all the time at their concerts so it shouldn’t have been that big of a deal.  THEN when Raki saves the day by redesigning S4′s outfits and by being praised by them, the fans suddenly like her. Then after her performance the fans on the internet say they are fans of her and that she’s cute. I LOVE Raki, but that’s not exactly the reason why I’m defending her. It may have not been a big deal to other people, but I was astonished with the whole fan situation. I don’t think we’ve ever seen fans hating on idols/other ppl before in Aikatsu.
