Aircel aims to set up 500 Stores by mid-2015
Aircel has observed that these stores are extremely convenient touch points where customers can get access to a variety of services. Hence, it has embarked on a strong retail footprint to enable retailers to extend support and convenience to the customers. Keeping this in mind, Aircel has expanded its retail footprint across the country by setting up 200 XPRESS Stores.
These XPRESS Stores are based on the FOFO (Franchisee-Owned Franchisee-Operated) model and will exclusively provide Aircel’s products and services, new connections, recharges and top-ups, resolution of customer queries, assistance and support to all new and existing Aircel customers. Furthermore, Aircel plans to increase the number up to 500 by the middle of next year to expand across India. Elitecore deploys NetVertex PCRF at AIRCEL
Dubai, 10 April, 2014: Elitecore Technologies, a leading provider of Integrated Policy, Charging and Revenue Management solutions has deployed NetVertex PCRF with Aircel India which has mobile presence across 23 circles.
NetVertex PCRF was introduced in Aircel network for its flexible & carrier grade architecture based on 3GPP standards to enable greater revenue creation and enhancescalability, eliminating network outage with geo redundancy and reduced turnaround time for resolution of issues. Aircel went through a detailed evaluation process with leading Policy Control vendors, which also involved in running tests to exhibit compliance on the features and requirement. Elitecore’s Netvertex PCRF scored very high in this evaluation.

Aircel launches free roaming service
Free roaming services from Aircel
‘One Nation, One Rate’, offers one rate for voice, SMS and data in home circles and on roaming on Aircel network, the company said in a statement. “Incoming calls while on roaming on Aircel network will be free,” it added.
Aircel users in Delhi can avail the service for Rs 39, while Mumbai subscribers have to pay Rs 32, the statement said.
The price points for the service for other circles range from Rs 21 to Rs 59, it added.
“…This product will enable Aircel customers to enjoy one rate for voice, SMS and data services in their respective home circles and even while they are on roaming,” Aircel Chief Marketing Officer Anupam Vasudev said.
The product will offer voice – (Local/National) calling at 1paisa/second in home circle as well as on roaming on Aircel network, while incoming calls on roaming will be free.
SMS will be charged at Re 1 for home circle as well as on roaming while data users will be able to carry the home circle rate on roaming, the statement added.
