First Sentence Fanfic: Luke ran as fast as could through the abandoned base and towards the hanger, hoping his ship was still there. There was a darkness getting closer and closer to him, and that darkness was his Father.
For Luke could never forget that familiar darkness.
The same darkness that slithered inside his sweaty skin, causing chills upon chills in his battered body from an illusory coldness.
The same darkness that burst into flames in his mind, wishing to devour the light he held, and control it to its bidding.
The same darkness which sliced both a limb from his body and innocent heart.
The same darkness which held his soul on a spider's thread, offering everything he wanted (yet everything he could never accept) while it bared its fangs to bite, and turn him to the same monster he was.
And Luke wanted nothing to do with that darkness. That monster which claimed himself as his birth parent.
So he kept running through the shadowed hallways, jumping over fallen crates, ignoring the white pieces of dusty and bloody clone armor that littered across the floor. All he did was run.
Run,run,run,run-
The Force let out a screeching scream of warning, making him stumble in his path, and clutch his head.
An invisible hand grasped his waist- making him gasp for air- and pulled him back, soaring through the same hallways till he landed right in someone's tight embrace.
Gloved hands held him firmly, struggling frantically to be freed from the monster's deadly grasp. But the more he struggled, the tighter he was held.
"Let. Me. Go!" Luke sneered with strained breaths, sweat trickling his red face as fear and rage bubbled inside him. He had to get out of here. He couldn't let himself be taken away by a Sith! He needed-
Luke felt his whole body freeze, paralyzed by an invisible force that contained every muscle. He couldn't move an inch. He couldn't fight back.
Tears welled up in his eyes without realizing it, his breaths becoming shorter and shorter as the sound of his own heart thumping against his chest rang in his ears. He was going to be killed. Taken away. Turned into a monster just like Vader-!
Suddenly, his muscles relaxed. Free from the invisible restraints on his body. And then, a soft kiss touched gently on top of his head; feeling a small pulse of... love? No... It couldn't be.
Luke frowned, daring to raise his face, and look upon the eyes of the monster. But instead of those soulless red lens of an obsidian, skeletal mask, they were the eyes of a broken man.
Dimmed sapphire blue eyes twinkling with faint golden stars of darkness. Mixed with emotions both of light and dark. And his pale, scarred face spoke of a horrid tale that once was done for love only to have lost their way. Corrupted by darkness and facing the consequences.
For a moment, a short eternity, the two stared into each other's eyes. Simply observing one another and speaking in a silent language that only they both knew.
The spell between them was broken, however, when a wave of sleepiness crashed upon him; the broken man placing a gloved hand tenderly on his forehead.
'Sleep, my son... You are safe.'
And this time, Luke believed the voice that spoke inside his mind, sinking into the realm of sleep, as he collapsed into the safe and loving embrace of his father.
