Understanding the Shakespeare Part of Ajin Week 2020.

I have done a lot of research so you don't have to. I'm here to try my hardest to help you know the meanings of the Shakespeare terms in this year's Ajin Week 2020 and I'll also give you creative meanings along with the literal meanings for them as well, which I hope will help spike any ideas for your artwork, fanfictions, or any other creations you plan on doing for this year's Ajin Week!

Now, I'm no Shakespeare professional so please understand that these are very simplified meanings and the tied meanings only slightly relate to the actual words. This is just to help you think of any ideas that might come to mind!

No, I'm not the creator of Ajin Week or anything and I'm not saying that these are the only meanings for them. There are tons of meanings for these words and either way, the Shakespeare part is optional! So I'm just helping out for anyone who wants it.

Literal meaning- Dictionary meaning

Tied meanings- Deeper meanings that may be way different from the literal meaning. How some people used it in art or literature, aka implied meanings.

Day 1 - The Infant

Literal Meaning:

A baby or chibi. A very young child.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: is unable to speak for themselves, came first or before all, helpless, cries a lot, is cute, acts like a baby/timid, is still developing, is not comfortable, is the youngest in a group or family, is cherished or protected, or someone who is small.

For example, Eriko may feel like she's treated like a baby because she's hospitalized.

Day 2 - The Schoolboy

Literal Meaning:

A child. A young person attending school, or a student.

Tied Meanings:

School could mean any forced practice. A "schoolboy" could be someone who: is confused or frustrated, whines and complains, is controlled and punished, is innocent in behavior, is cheeky, is clumsy, is spoiled, is socially unaware, or someone who is in a world of discipline, order & routine.

For example, Nakano can be a bit clumsy sometimes especially around his crush.

Day 3 - The Lover

Literal Meaning:

Being romantically involved. Someone who loves something specific like family, animals, food, killing people, etc.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: may be in their teen years, is obsessed with something, is heartbroken or a heartbreaker, is flirty, is caring, could be simple minded or ditzy, is beautiful or pretty , is attractive or someone with attitude.

For example, Kai is very caring to his friend Nagai.

Day 4 - The Solider

Literal Meaning:

Someone who serves in the army or military. (Verb) To carry on persistently.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: young ones look up to, is a hero, stands their ground, fights or protects, seeks knowledge, or someone who is simply an adult.

For example, Sato is one to always stand his ground.

Day 5 - The Justice

Literal Meaning:

Someone who justs behavior and/or brings fairness.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: has experience, may have a peaceful nature, is mature, aged, plays their part, keeps things controlled and organized, or someone successful.

For example, Tosaki does a great job keeping the group in order.

Day 6 - The Dotard

Literal Meaning:

An old person, someone physically or mentally weak and may have mental illness.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: declines judgement, may be insane, is rotting or dying, is harsh and cruel, is wise, has been through suffering, is respected and remembered, or someone who is wise.

For example, Hirasawa is a well respected man.

Day 7 - Second Childishness

Literal Meaning:

A period in someone's adult life where they act like a child, either for fun or due to mental disease or trauma.

Tied Meanings:

Someone who: is older and needs to be watched over, can't perform everyday activities, fears, is senile, is immature, has childlike judgements or someone who gives up easily or has given up with life.

For example, Sato probably doesn't think about other's feelings.
