Taylor Swift is aro but like. Look. Look look look. Idk if he experiences any romantic or not, but regardless he very much wants to be in a relationship. And right now that he's but a teen boy with wayyy too much confidence in himself, that want feels simple. He picks a girl to "like like" (and it's usually a rather shallow pick at the moment, but that doesn't mean he isn't gonna give them his all) and he tries to win them over. He doodles their name on his notebooks and backpacks and gets lost in fantasies that make him feel happy. And he likes them, he does, and he wants to do the romantic things with them, and he wants to be a gentleman and be absolutely devoted to someone (his mom taught him that liking a girl meant he should be extra nice to them to make them feel special, hence why he's so eager to do literally anything to help out Erica). But as he grows older he kinda becomes very aware that him liking someone is different than what others around him feel. (Apparently it's not normal to pick and choose who you like, and apparently he should feel more than just a bruised ego at being rejected, and apparently those feelings are meant to develop naturally! Wild.) And it's confusing at first, because. How is he supposed to know what "regular" love feels like when he only knows his own?? Maybe his love is "regular" and he's just making a big deal out of nothing? He doesn't want to be aro, not even a little bit. But it keeps nagging at him at the back of his mind, and it's just. An on and off struggle that he has for a long while, before he's like. Yeah okay I'm aro. And then his desire for a relationship gets a bit more. Complicated. Because he does still v much want one! But he's. A lot more scared now. That people will misunderstand his entire identity, that people won't want the love that he has to give because it's not right enough, that maybe he'd be leading people on. And yeah! That's my take on aro Taylor Swift.
