HI TUMBLR I RECENTLY UPGRADED FROM IBIS TO PROCREATE. WISH ME LUCK IN RELEARNING HOW TO DRAW (All currently queued posts are from my ibispaint days, hOPEFULLY this encourages me to draw more)
Reading so many pjo and percabeth fanfics, and re-reading all of my favorites of course and I keep getting rage-baited by some of the random Annabeth hate some of these fanfictions, especially my LEAST favorite genre of Riordan Verse Fanfiction (Chaos Percy/the fanfic where he and Annabeth break up and then everyone decides to hate him so he like runs away and gets with a God or gets with chaos or whatever).
Some people act like Annabeth being scared of Percy because of THAT moment in HOH is like a genuine crime against humanity. I have two things to say to that.
1. They match each others freak. Sorry, not sorry. Like girl was scared but also has her brain wired in a way that she will ALWAYS be able to see the practical value of something. And also girl walk him a dog. Walk him like a dog.
2. I’m sorry if your mortal boyfriend almost killed an immortal goddess by controlling her own poison… like would you not be a little bit frightened? Like would that not like give you a little bit of an ick? And it wouldn’t necessarily be scared of him but more scared of what he could do or could become… which like yes if your mortal boyfriend became a blood bender, you’d be scared too! Like what????
God forbid you’re a girl and god forbid you’re a seventeen year old girl in a traumatizing situation 🙄.
Another thing about the poison scene in House of Hades. Not only is it bias on Rick's part to make Percy more powerful because he likes him more. But it MAKES NO SENSE.
Poseidon is the god of the SEA and OCEAN.
Akhlys was a fucking PRIMORDIAL GODESS.
There is no way Percy should have ever been able to have more control over her domain than herself.
And another thing is that it was POISON.
Nothing about it had anything to do with the sea or ocean.
Percy should only be able to control the sea and ocean because that is Poseidon's domain not fucking poison.
It makes no sense.
I actually have a headcanon for that scene that since Percy was half dead and in literal hell he was hallucinating that entire encounter and it never happened.
Akhlys - Ephialtes
percy jackson might actually canonically be a bloodbender
now before you guys say 'hE jUsT cOnTrOlLeD pOiSoN, bLoOd bEnDiNg iS nOt cAnOn', yes i know that's what i ORIGINALLY thought before i reread percy jackson
here is a lovely excerpt from the house of hades :
"But the goddess of misery was now fixated on Percy. He tried to retreat again. Unfortunately the poison ichor was flowing all around him now, making the ground steam and the air burn. Percy found himself stuck on an island of dust not much bigger than a shield. A few yards away, his backpack smoked and dissolved into a puddle of goo. Percy had nowhere to go."
as you guys all know this is the scene before percy controls the poison like
"Warmth flowed through him. The poison tide stopped."
NOW LOOK AT THE EXCERPT ABOVE
IT SAYS 'POISON ICHOR'
IT'S ICHOR!?
IT'S GODLY BLOOD!?
guys someone prove me wrong
also in case someone does prove me wrong
lemme just say that percy has controlled the rivers (or at least one, of the one when they first fell) of tartarus which are the bloodstreams of tartarus in the riordanverse
GUYS
IS PERCY BLOODBENDING CANON!?
