It was true that he was not very fond of Windhelm, in fact he had hoped to never see this dreadful place again after he adopted his daughter, but the Dragonborn had business and he obliged to go along with them. They tell him to relax for a while, wander a bit if he chooses, so he does. He finds himself wandering towards market square, walking up to a general goods stall next to a dunmer, before inspecting the items laid before him.
