Thank you, @fishandships! :D This was neat to think about, it's been a while since I thought deeply about Liz.

Another Ask Game

🍇 Does your OC have any bad habits? Does your OC have any addictions like smoking or drinking? How did they fall into these habits and why?

She leaves her tea steeping for 30+ minutes because she'll forget it's there, or lose track of how long it's been steeping and think, "just five more minutes". GB is appalled. Chang buys her a tea timer. She uses it about 10% of the time (very earnestly). Albert laughs and gets her extra honey. She drinks the tea regardless of how long it's steeped.

I can see her getting more of a caffeine addiction over the years because of how unpredictable enemies are, so falling asleep is tough. And then of course she'd be worried about being woken up in the middle of the night by an enemy, so her sleep would be light and troubled.

🐍 Is your OC a good liar? How easy is it for them to tell lies? What is the biggest lie they’ve ever told and did they ever get found out? On the other hand, what is the biggest lie someone has told your OC and did they believe them?

Liz will lie her ass off to protect her teammates. "Who else is on this mission?" "Only me." "Who's this guy?" "Dunno, never seen 'em before." etc. That said, in her daily life she prefers not to if she can avoid it.

I think the biggest "lie" was probably the false feeling of safety in the cyborg household, prior to her becoming a cyborg. Jet was the only one who was sharp and short with her, and part of it was his concern that she was going to be dragged into the mess the rest of them had. Albert and Liz both ignored that, and well, now she's one of them. Jet was right.

(Jet's reaction to getting Liz home after she was turned cyborg was to set her up with a racing video game and play it with her until she was too exhausted to stay awake, then fetch Albert to watch over her. They're besties.)

🏀 Does your OC have any skills that people wouldn’t expect them to have? Do they have a hobby or pass time that others would consider strange or weird? How did they learn this particular skill or pick up this hobby?

Liz is a tank, much like G. Jr., and they often team up to (quite literally) bowl people over in fights. But she can also phase through walls, since she's a newer model and a certain doctor was getting ambitious with his designs. So imagine you try to lock yourself into a bank vault to get away from some powerful cyborgs, then one of them casually phases through the wall and flings you into the security boxes. Yeah. That's what Liz can do.

I don't think she has any "strange" or "unusual" hobbies. Like Albert, she likes to read. She likes games, she likes exercise, she likes the theater- OH that's right. Perhaps her penchant for knowing what Shakespeare play GB is referencing is something others might find odd. I wrote a fic about that ages ago and put it here on Tumblr. :D

She picked it up because of her aforementioned love of reading, of course.

F - Flirt do they flirt? If so how do they flirt?

Albert is very straightforward in his flirting. He compliments Liz directly when he sees something he likes. He also likes making her laugh, so he'll crack a joke or two with that lopsided smile of his that Liz finds so handsome and endearing.

Liz, meanwhile, is a bit more subtle, but always earnest. She does little things like answer the phone going, "Hi, handsome" when she hears his voice, and does a lot of touching- on his arms, back, or sometimes chest.

A - Activity what’s something they enjoy doing together?

Both are 1) massive bookworms and 2) introverts. One of their favorite dates is sitting on the same couch (touching optional) and sharing a pot of tea, occasionally sharing something interesting that's happening in their book of choice.

N - Nickname what are some names they like to call the other?

Albert calls her Mausi or Liz.

Liz calls him by his name, or 'hon'. Occasionally, 'mein Schatz', too.

C - Calm how do they calm the other down?

Both are good at listening to the other vent. Liz will make him his favorite tea; Albert will join Liz on her long, quiet walks. Mostly, they provide a willing ear or shoulder, and company.

Y - Yes who would propose? What would the proposal be like?

How dare you

I... did I ever talk about this? I don't remember. I don't think I ever really saw either of them as proposing because of the situation they're in, but. I guess it's not entirely impossible?

It would take a long time, though. And need to be in a moment of peace. Chances are, they would get the whole marriage thing done that day, or barring that, that week. File the paperwork, have as many of the other cyborgs as witnesses, then go out for dinner later. Short proposal period, practical, on the down-low... and all theirs.

5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?

Liz is a tank, first of all. She can take a beating just as well as G. Jr. or Albert can, and will launch herself willy-nilly into fights as a result.

She can also phase through walls.

So imagine pissing her off enough that she charges through however many walls you tried to put between the two of you. Yeah. Don't make her mad xD

9. who are your self insert’s closest friends?

Jet! They get off to a VERY rocky start at first. Jet is concerned about Albert getting himself hurt with "some dame" and avoids her for a while at the start. Once she's cyborgized, though, there's a point where he wanders in, sits next to her on the couch, passes her a bag of potato chips, and turns on a movie. And they marathon movies that night, with him firmly settled in by her side.

It's his way of apologizing for being a jerk for several months leading up to this, and his way of assuring her that Jet's got her back. They're bros now. Team Murika.

Also Fran. Fran and Liz have venting sessions together, and go shopping as a pair, too. Fran is delighted to have another woman around; she'll tell Liz how much it changes the dynamic of the team, just having one more person around. In a good way! Not that it was bad before, but now it's better.

14. what hobbies does your self insert have?

Liz and Albert's dream dates involve sitting on a couch or in bed together, wearing cozy clothes, reading their own books and drinking tea. They can spend all day doing that.

Liz is also a fan of Shakespeare. She and GB will quote it at each other and go see performances together.

Hey thank you so much,@dengujian ! 😎 Secret agent AU sounds like fun, it has bodyguard vibes to it! I'm thinking that both Albert and my s/i Liz start out as bodyguards/secret agents, and end up working on the same mission together. From there it sort of morphs into a situation where they end up having to cover/protect each other. Maybe Liz has to go undercover at a formal event and Albert goes as her 'bodyguard'. Maybe Albert needs backup on a mission that requires heavy hitters. They would admire each other for the skills they each bring to the table, and the tension would definitely be ramped up by the missions they're trying to handle!

Heeey thank you so much! I've been holding onto this because I felt like I'd be a broken record pointing at the same FOs over and over, but today I'm having feels for Albert so I'm going to talk about him.

Tl;dr Albert is a cyborg, kidnapped against his will along with several other people and forced to fight in battles he wants no part of. He and his crew break off and try to find their own path in the world, fighting baddies all the while.

A common trope for characters in Albert's role (he's the one cyborgized the most obviously, with his gun hand and missile knees) is for the character to agonize over whether they're human or not. Not so with Albert. He feels even more in touch with his human side and denounces any attempts to make him see otherwise. He even has to fight a robot version of himself, designed by *cough* someone *cough* as the enemy tries to prove that Albert is no better than said robot. Albert wins.

Albert is the big brother of the group. He's the one who always sits outside of Doc Gilmore's lab when someone needs repairs or surgery. He's the one who pulls people aside to check on them after something traumatic happens. He's the one who goes into a rage when someone he cares about gets hurt on the battlefield.

He's made of hard metal but his heart is so big and so soft I get emotional when I think about him and all he's been through.

He's kind, caring, determined, a strategist who gives advice, cool-headed (most of the time)... and he has the cutest lopsided grin I've ever seen.

Also.

He's an adorable muppet sometimes.

Very serious moment. Such muppet.
