Hey there, Mickey Mouse
OPEN STARTER
It’s been a while since she had returned to work, and gradually, she was back on top of her game. Yet her inner turbulence, despite dropping down to more manageable levels, nonetheless still fuelled her fear that she was not putting in as much effort as she should be. And so despite practically living inside the underground base, she still continued to over compensate.
But of course, that comes with its own fair share of physical strains. She felt weak, and the headaches were a constant condition nowadays, along with keyboard impressions on her cheek when her head simply plopped down every time she crashed. And so, even though she preferred to avoid coffee to help her control her nerves, she couldn’t care less anymore and was ready to down a gallon of it.
And so, there she was back again in the break room, prepping the-she-lost-count-th pot of coffee that day, and unaware of someone’s presence, she continued the conversation she started with herself back in her lab, giggling every now and then, even throwing her head back as she laughed heartily, then pausing, staring at nothing specific for a few moments before she shook her head in defeat.
“Look at you, Lyla... you’re gonna be put in an asylum... you’ve so lost your mind...”
