Alright everybody; it’s that time of the year again.

Today, the 2016 league year ends at 4:00 pm.

Right after, the 2017 league year will commence with the start of free agency.

FREE AGENTS

19 players were signed through the 2016 season. 13 are unrestricted free agents; 3 are restricted free agents; 3 are exclusive rights free agents.

UPDATE (03/06/17): James Develin re-signs on a two-year deal (x).

UPDATE (03/07/17): Malcolm Butler has been tendered (x).

UPDATE (03/07/17): Justin Coleman has been tendered (x).

UPDATE (03/07/17): Cameron Fleming has been tendered (x).

UPDATE (03/07/17): Matt Lengel has been tendered (x).

Sebastian Vollmer was supposed to become an unrestricted free agent this year. Since he missed the entire 2016 season, his contract was extended through 2017.

UPDATE (03/03/17): Vollmer has officially been released and is now a free agent. He is said to be currently contemplating retirement due to lingering hip issues (x).

CAP SPACE

The Patriots currently have close to $60 million in terms of cap space. According to PatsCap, the team has $58.5 million while OverTheCap has it at $59.6 million.

UPDATE (03/03/17): By releasing Sebastian Vollmer, the team created an additional $1.7 million in cap space. The total is now $60.3 million, according to PatsCap (x).

UPDATE (03/07/17): Cap space is now $54.7 million (x) (x).

UPDATE (03/08/17): Cap space is now $50.4 million after the Dwayne Allen trade (x).
