if you think about it, what pride had wrought was Alanari's "this fight is going to cost my life and I don't really care anymore" moment. they're resigned, and that probably becomes more apparent as fighting through the temple drags on — because they do pause to help Sentinels after a truce is struck. helping doesn't make up for those who died at their own and the Inquisition's swords, but it's something.

THE HINTERLANDS.
Alanari has been in Ferelden for some time leading up to the Conclave. Her intention in coming so far south - which likely included travel by ship - was to cross into Orlais and find the clan of which her brother had been given to as First.
The civil war precluded that plan.
Instead, Alanari finds a tenuous place with the still-young elvhen community of the Hinterlands. You can read more about that here. They remain restless despite being welcomed, worried about Taven and feeling adrift.
From Ostagar, angry at being uprooted yet again, Alanari sets out for Haven, alone, when rumors of the peace talks there reach the fortress. Felassan's warnings against it are ignored, to disaster.
Returning, also, is uncomfortable. Rather than slinking back to Ostagar alone, Alanari wears the emblem of a new Chantry-adjacent force (for their own, dubious, safety), one which is swiftly taking over the Hinterlands. There's worry, of putting the survivors in danger by revealing her connection to them, let alone going back temporarily. Ending the siege, however, is worth their discomfort, and more.
