Puljos to the Angels?
Word just dropped that Puljos has agreed to terms with the Angels (pause while I unleash every bad word in every language that I know). The word is that it's a 10yr $250 mil deal. WOW that's a lot of money. Obviously, this is a BIG blow to the Rangers...One that may force them to go after Prince Fielder. And if that's not bad enough, CJ Wilson is said to be close to signing with the Angels as well. If all of this is true, I'm glad I was able to go to the World Series with my dad because we may never see that again. What a downer. The Rangers will definitely not stand pat. They are in on Yu Darvish (Japanese Ace) and are also exploring the trade market. Matt Garza seems to be a name that comes up a lot, but I don't think that's enough. We'll just have to wait and see what happens
Hot Stove is Heating up!
Reports are that the Marlins are out of the Puljos negotiations and have since focused their attention on CJ Wilson and Mark Buerhle...this is not good news for the Rangers. Karl Ravech of ESPN is reporting that the Marlins have offered CJ a 6 year deal. If this is true, the Rangers could be looking hard at Buerhle. Either way, look for some action toward the end of the day.

Let's Talk NL MVP!
Today, MLB will announce the winner of the 2010 National League MVP Award. Let’s take a look at the top candidates.
Joey Votto
He had an outstanding season, leading the Reds to their first Division title in 15 years while posting a .324 average with 37 HRs and 113 RBIs. He led the NL in on base percentage and slugging percentage while finishing second in batting average. Not bad for a guy that didn’t even make the All Star Team. You gotta love fan voting…
Carlos Gonzalez
He was also snubbed from the All Star Team. All he did was come out of nowhere to hit .336 with 34 HRs 117 RBIs and 26 SBs. His batting average led the NL and he finished second in RBIs. His glove work was also outstanding, earning him his first NL Gold Glove Award.
Albert Puljos
Let’s be real…Puljos is an MVP candidate every season. He’s probably already been robbed of at least two MVPs and has won the award three times including the last two. He was a major triple crown threat, finishing tops in the NL in both HRs and RBIs while posting a .312 batting average. He played well on defense, earning his 2nd Gold Glove.
And The Winner Is…
Albert Puljos. Team wins should count for something, but I just don’t think it’s enough to push Votto over Prince Albert. He earned a Gold Glove and led the NL in two out of three triple crown categories…to me, that’s enough to win his 3rd straight MVP.
