“...what is this place...?” He knew the spell he’d just cast had WORKED, but where he’d ended up? Now that was impossible to say. Treading carefully, the end of his staff alight to guide him, Ian took a look around at what appeared to be some kind of LABORATORY, though... definitely not like the science classrooms at his high school. | @alchemyready

❝ that’s quite fascinating --- oh ! sorry for the intrusion ! i noticed the smell of a sulfur and wanted to investigate . ❞ how in awe she had been seeing the the youth at hard work . the queen could not help but stand back and watch .
(Angsty sentence starters - accepting ) A letter from @alchemyready reads: "I can't do anything right." [he's probably okay. maybe.]
【 ☆ 】An intake of breath draws the alchemist’s jaw. The loaded charge of Varian’s words having sparked a chemical reaction that was foreign to Noctus’ system. It ran his blood heated, bubbling, with an anger the boy hadn’t seen in him before.
❝ You stop that. Now. Right now! ❞
The alchemist hadn’t raised his voice back, he hadn’t needed to. Not with the definitive firmness that edged his words as they tore through the tension, unrelenting. He’d always tried to approach things in a gentle, yet level-headed, manner when it came to Varian. But Noctus... well, he’d had enough.
It was time for the hard truths even if Varian wasn’t ready for them. The lessons Noctus had tried to guide and prod him towards. Since it felt, in part, his responsibility to as the older of the two of them, and as Varian’s friend. But it was becoming all the more evident to Noctus that these were lessons the younger alchemist needed to be given a little more.. firmly.
❝ You’re your own worst enemy, Varian. You still haven’t realised that or the self-destructive loop that you seem so.. desperate to perpetuate. Despite the efforts of everyone around you to break you out of it. ❞ He’d begun, an angry gleam in his golden gaze. Frustration guides the waving of his arms as he speaks, motioning, pleading, that Varian finally take notice. That Varian finally listens.
❝ You act impulsively because you’re caught up in chasing the approval of those around you. And then, when that inevitably backfires, you react in such a volatile manner that you ‘disappoint’ those around you. Which starts the whole cycle anew, and kicks off yet another impulsive decision. Don’t think I haven’t noticed, Varian. I’m a scientist, just like you, observation is what I do. ❞
There’s a sigh, his head falling as he pinched the space between his beak.
❝ I’ve been... trying to guide you into seeing it yourself. Since I respect you to much as a person to just grab you by the reigns and force you to the river. But.. but this has to stop Varian. Not just for your own sake.. But for the greatness you could bring into this world. You’re a smart kid Varian, trust me, I know. But that gift of yours can’t shine as bright as it should if this keeps going on.❞
Noctus hesitated as he lingered on the cusp of words he knew.. he knew would hurt Varian even if they were so important for the younger alchemist to hear. ❝And someone will get hurt again... ❞

— ⚡ In the tree house, Kiera was setting up a sword display on one of the walls. She had heard some rustling under her bed. Cat was outside so it wasn’t her. Kneeling down, she pulled up the covers and saw a familiar face. “Rud! How did you get here? Come here.” Grabbing the critter, she got up and left the tree house.
"Let’s get you back to V.” After a while of walking, she finally made it to his house. “Hey V!” the kid called as she knocked on his door. “You lost something! Special delivery!”

“Kid,” he said, looking at the castle, “if your bazooka can do all that, I think you better keep a closer eye on it.”
