@troublesomemix whoop whoop
"Are you really telling me that this new requirement needs to be delivered before our dev freeze tomorrow at noon? And you just came up with it now? This is not gonna fly Kay," Ale breathed out through the mic. It was the 4th time in the week they scope creeped on them and it was only Tuesday. At this rate they'll need to pay the DEVs overtime for the entire week and the project was yellow. Did Kay did not get that people needed to eat and sleep? She was getting hangry and the commotion outside the office wasn't helping.
She had heard some co-worker rant about parking spaces and how the street was cut on the account of the horde of (not so) teen fans camping and staying outside the hotel across the street. Since she either took the subway or the bike she really didn't care and she also understood them. She had been that person, heck, if she wasn't working she'd probably get a hot chocolate and hang out there for maybe an hour to get a selfie with one of them. She grew up with boybands and this one, even though they weren't the Backst.reet Boys held a special place in her heart. She had gotten the gold pass tickets for their show over the weekend and her bestie and her had plans for the entire evening too--her friend's husband will babysit their kids and they'll make a girl's night out of it, one they hadn't had since her goddaughter was born 2 years ago.
By the time the fifth call of the day was over, she tossed her headphones next to her laptop and poked her ears a few times, trying to see if she had lost (more) hearing or if it was just a mild headphone headache coming in. She stretched her neck a few times and then reached for her phone, seeing Mary's messages about the press coverage and how jealous her friend was that she was across the street from the band. Deciding to go grab her food, she headed to the little office fridge, heated it up and headed back to her desk by the window--she liked her desk especially at that time when the sun hit but not that bad and in cold days like this one it warmed her heart a little. "I'll send you pictures once I'm out will that work?" she told her friend over the phone, Mary explaining that they were staying at the 10th floor so that she'd probably get to see them if she tried.
"Mary, you need to get out of your house more," she nibbled on some heated pasta, "I cannot see them from here, what are you--" Ale stopped talking altogether when she turned to the window and realized that yes, she was definitely in the same floor as the band across the street because one of them was staring at her, very amused and it seemed he had been sitting there for a while. "OhmyGod you're right. I'm seeing Kole right now." A loud scream on the other end of the phone made her pull her phone away from the ear. Wave at him her friend said. "That's stupid I'm not gonna wave at him, what am I, twelve?" Wave the fuck at him Alejandra Paloma Valenzuela! her friend chided, full name huh.
So she waved at him, feeling inmensely stupid. At least her co-workers weren't around to tease her endlessly.
