Kathy here (a woman) wants to curb freedom of speech, Alex (a man) doesn't agree.
In Kathy's world, Alex, as a white affluent man, has no legitimate opinion on this. His thoughts count for nothing because, in her narrative, he seeks only to retain his privileged place in society. Any attempts to stop her in her quest to curtail freedom of speech are therefore labelled misogynistic. She very nearly uses the term 'check your privilege'.

Author Cathy Lette versus Alex Deane on the debate of trying to force Twitter to have a stupid "Abuse" button (just like Youtube has - and is abused). The woman says she represents all women, no she does not, it is an arrogant position to take, and reducing to name calling at the guy also stupid. If someone is threatening people with rape or other things, it is a crime and call the police. There is NO need for an abuse button, which will just be abused by people who want to shut down debate, as happens on Youtube.
