I've only read a small part of "The Sorrows of Young Werther" today in german class today but damn. From my first impression, Werther is so similar to Alexei Ivanovich from "The Gambler" by Fyodor Dostoevsky and to the narrator of "White Nights" by Fyodor Dostoevsky as well.
They all give me the same kind of pathetic wet cat vibes. Just that one of them has a gambling addiction and that the other one actually doesn't commit sewerslide bc of not being able to get together with the girl he loved.
