When I fan(girled?) over Alhazad and Verg of BS6 people called me fucked up. No one ever wondered what the fuck happened to me- as a teen struggling with my shit-to make me empathize and love those two so much.

It gets more disturbing when not only do they not want to try to understand your reasons, but try to dismiss them by turning shit like trauma and mental illness into some kind of competition. “I went through x, y, z and have a,b, c and I like GOOD characters and NICE stories so you have no excuse.” or some shit. Which I’ve seen.

People seem to automatically think that if you like evil characters or villains, or even characters that are very flawed but otherwise good at heart, at all that you must agree with what those characters do. If anything, it just brings to light just how extreme and unnecessarily aggressive and toxic people on this site can be. Just check out the marvel and bvs tags, and god forbid Supergirl. And you absolutely cannot reason with these people either. They don’t understand the concept of healthy debate or even the right to have an opinion. It’s their way or the highway, as if they’re your mother or something. You like what you like. You know the difference between right and wrong; you’ll be just fine. Fiction is not going to corrupt you like so many on this site believe.

Somehow “fiction effects reality” got twisted so badly that people turned it into “fiction is reality” where they completely ignore the actual connections between the two. We’ve warped back around to “violent video games and rock and rap music turn kids into rapists and murderers” basically.

name changing is pretty easy at least it is in the states iirc. all I did in Maryland was fill out this form, take it to the court house, pay a fee. They will ask "why" somewhere on the form and you can give any reason you want "gender reassignment" is what I used. I waited about a month and then this "order of name change" thing came in the mail and was signed by a judge & all I had to do was take it to the SS office to change it with the gov and then the MVA for a new ID.

Yeah I was aware that it’s pretty easy to change your name in america. Sadly it’s almost impossible here in germany. Well first name changes are possible if you’re trans but I think you need two experts opinions for that :/ Plus I kinda need to get rid of the last name too for trauma reasons. Which can be done by marrying someone. Or if you’re in extreme danger from the mafia or similar, which luckily I’m not, but that’s how hard it is to do that.

What are the various versions of "hot" like in Texas? I know desert heat...but is there unbearable southren heat... like Florida 99% cut the air with a knife humidity heat too?

hmmm well theres kind of damp heat where its very wet and humid and hot (like 90+) and then theres dry heat which can go over 100? it sort of depends. i can handle up to 92F before i get distressed and absolutely need cover.
