Can I be added to the permanent tag list and also do you have any tips on how to start writing? Like I have a bunch of ideas but I don’t know what to do??? Please help
sure you can! and yes, i can give you a few tips that helped me! :-) but are you planning on writing oneshots, headcanons, your completely own story with own characters…?
if it’s your completely own story then start with creating the plot and characters. i use weheartit for this! the collections are great for aesthetic- boards! once you’ve created the “mood boards” you’re guaranteed to get more inspired because with every photo added you’re also adding things to the package that is your oc or the story.
if its fanfiction, pick a genre to start with! fluff, angst, humor… i think i started with humor years ago but im a very humorous persona so it comes naturally to me, so you gotta figure what floats your boat the best! i think fluff is pretty easy to start with because everyone loves fluff. especially in fandoms where we dont have a lot of it cannon-ly (?? is that even a word??)
but then whether it’s your own story or fanfiction, same rules apply:
the most important rule of them all, NEVER EVER EVER compare your writing to someone else’s! probably all writers do this anyway but we shouldnt because we’re only gonna sob and fall into the neverending i suck at writing and this person is so much better than me and i will never become anything- hole but its not true because all writers are great writers
writing should be relaxing and to me its even therapeutic, writing cleanses the head and thoughts and its supposed to be fun and something that you love. you should never write because you feel like you have to. that way whatever you write won’t be real, it will just be forced and there is no joy/emotion whatsoever inside it
its easy to go overboard with writing when you get carried away by your imagination. sometimes angst gets too dark and fluff gets too mushydushy loveydovey and maybe that fifth your mom- joke in a row wasnt that funny anymore,, so you should learn to know the boundaries
try to stay in character with the dialogue! again, the aesthetic mood board collection- thingies are great for this (also for writing fanfiction!)
also listen to a lot of music. music is a huge inspiration to me. create playlists that remind you of the characters/story, add songs that make you think of them or songs that you think would fit the scene.
learn new and different words
add a little bit of humor to your writing, if it fits the picture! like with describing. it makes reading it more entertaining
and when you’re describing, try to think of the feeling YOU would have in that moment if possible. thats what i always do and just type out whatever the fuck i would feel lmao if it isnt like,,, too in-character-thingy thats happening :)
i guess thats all that came into my mind rn but if you have any more questions feel free to ask me! and my writer friends, feel free to add things ♡
