Neville in the Department of Mysteries is so brave and loyal. He acts like a true Gryffindor. When everyone else is injured, he still follows Harry against the Death Eaters, fighting despite his broken nose (his help isn’t very effective, but he’s still trying). He’s terrified, but still behaves like a real friend and hero. He’s ready to endure Bellatrix’s torture, just like his parents did, as long as the prophecy doesn’t fall into the Death Eaters’ hands!
And before that, when Seamus said Harry was crazy for thinking Voldemort had returned, Neville stood by Harry instead of just staying silent. And after Sirius died, Neville immediately told Harry how sorry he was…
I love this boy! The Sorting Hat was absolutely right to put him in Gryffindor. His grandmother should be proud of him (instead of constantly saying he’s nothing like his father and basically a weakling!).
And speaking of his grandmother: yes, she treats Neville unfairly. But at the same time, she’s loyal to Dumbledore, always knew Voldemort would return, and she treats her daughter-in-law well too!
