Darius Bennion
A very powerful psychic-witch that comes from an ancient line of warlocks dating back to the Celts. Met Bonnie during her travels, mentored and worked alongside her. Has come to Mystic Falls to help her figure out what has been going on. Brilliant, eloquent, and very charming.
Occupation: Biogenetics Scientist
Radka Sunkram
A werewolf; descendant of one of the original lines of purebred werewolves dating back to the Vedic age. Was recruited by Caroline after Klaus introduced them in New Orleans. A badass with a great sense of style and grace. No wonder Alaric is head over heels for her!
Occupation: Anthropologist, Teacher at the Salvatore School
Sergei Kolvac
One of the oldest vampires in existence, and a vampire hunter (ironic, right?). Comes from a highly respected family of intellectuals of Slavic descent. He recently moved to Mystic Falls to teach at Salvatore School. Alaric met him during one of his research trips in Moscow, and they became buds. Alaric asked him to come to teach at the school and declined at first since his life was established in Moscow, but after his wife’s recent passing he decided to give Mystic Falls a chance. A very sophisticated, and highly cultured introvert.

Khuyana Illarisisa
Peruvian freedom fighter and humanitarian. Met Matt while he was living in Lima, they fell in love and got married. When Matt was asked to return to Mystic Falls as Chief of Police, it was the perfect timing since she was being persecuted by her government. A true bohemian, outspoken and fearless, yet, delicate and gentle.
Occupation: Humanitarian, Program Director of an ONG
Edward C. Powell
Human; comes from an elite (old-money) family of very powerful politicians. One of the richest and most influential people in the world. He was recently appointed Mayor of Mystic Falls, the youngest the town has ever had. Why he would leave a high executive position at the White House to become the Mayor of such a small town, nobody knows. A clean-cut wasp, obsessed with perfection.
Occupation: Mayor of Mystic Falls, Politician, Businessman
Sam Hernández
A Cuban-American MD. Elena's mentor and close friend. Comes from a family of renowned & groundbreaking medical doctors.
Occupation: Medical Resident at Whitmore Medical
