Many people assume that there aren't any willing to assist with ACC activities, or that those that do are fanatics in their own right. However, we occasionally do have some very level headed individuals who volunteer to assist. The screening process is extensive and we require a lot from those who offer, especially when unrelated to any active cases. Many offer themselves up to fulfill fantasies or to live out fetish oriented desires, which has led to this screening process. However, this volunteer not only passed their screening but has been an instrumental in learning more about alien species.
Lila, or subject L1, is a volunteer who has maintained a long lasting presence among the staff and has hosted many alien species. There was even a point at which her repeated contributions led to the assumption that she may be an alien hybrid. Thankfully, this was not the case and she simply is extremely helpful of her own volition. She has shown extreme physical resilience and endured some of the more harrowing pregnancies, but has remained in relatively good health.
She is how the ACC learned of the different gestational periods and using those to help identify certain species using them. She is currently gestating a long term species that we still can not properly identify the time leading up to birth. While she expresses no concerns or physical discomfort, Lila isn't very pleased to know that this may be indefinite. She had no interest in hosting any broodmother species and enjoys being able to return to her normal life in between pregnancies.
When questioned about why she wanted to take part as a volunteer, Lila opened up about her experiences with a ring of those who intentionally impregnated others with aliens when she was younger. She grew up letting aliens loose with friends, all of which were provided by a benefactor of unknown origins. She would take pleasure in watching other people swell up with massive bellies and often times targeted those who were conventionally attractive. When their benefactor vanished one day, the friend group slowly dissolved and they went their separate ways. This was Lila's way of making up for what she did and while she doesn't enjoy it necessarily, she certainly has grown used to it.
Lila even has taken up a secondary role in acting as a den mother of sorts to other volunteers. Her experience has helped discern those who may have passed the screening process but are unsuited for other reasons. Any volunteers struggling or in need of extra assistance report to Lila who brings back a detailed report in case the volunteer is struggling to communicate. Even when there is a rising sexual tension among volunteers, Lila has managed to organize them and find a productive way to provide relief that didn't interfere with observations or experiments.
While not staff by technicality, Lila is valued among those who work at the ACC and is treated as if she were staff. While the directors remain skeptical, they approved Lila to have the freedom to roam around any facility she is currently housed at. There are obvious exceptions, but her general clearance has helped with keeping her integrated with current staff and even provide minor assistance in training newer members of staff.
