"is that my shirt?" reversed (the two girls, again :p)
haha I don’t know, you did such a great job, I don’t think I can top that but I’ll try my best! :P (sorry this took so long!)
My head shot up at the sound of a loud crash. And, almost instantly, I knew exactly what it was. Frank moved to get up, but I placed a hand on his chest. “Down boy, I got this one,” I said, before sliding out of bed.
I pulled my arms through my sweater sleeves and hurried through the bedroom door. My ears were immediately filled with the sounds of Chase’s giggles. And then my eyes were assaulted by the sight of the hellish mess.
It was all across the kitchen counters. Dishes and various food particles everywhere. “Good morning, my angel!” Aislin greeted, in sing-song as she whisked across the kitchen behind Chase.
“Morning mom!” Chase said.
He was stirring something in a bowl. It was of an odd yellow, mucus color. Part of me didn’t even want to know what in the world that was supposed to be. “What are you guys doing?” I asked, trying not to sound like I was in a full on panic.
I took steps toward the island, which was also cluttered heavily with pots and pans. Aislin turned to see me from the fridge. “We made breakfast,” she answered, smiling.
“So that’s what this is,” I mumbled under my breath, eyes scanning the mess. “That was really thoughtful of yo-” I paused suddenly. Eyes moving up. Locking on Aislin.
More specifically, her shirt. It was a familiar purple, nearly worn through from hundreds of trips in the washer. My eyebrow raised, eyes narrowing. It couldn’t be. Could it? “Is that my shirt?” I blurted.
“Oh, this old thing? I fished it out of the clean clothes bin on the dryer. Hope you don’t mind,” Aislin replied. “I got pancake batter all over the one I brought.”
Suddenly Chase squealed. He slipped forward, falling, face splattering straight into the bowl in front of him. He was up in a second, hissing like a cat. And he bolted into the bathroom screaming. I face-palmed. “Now there’s batter all over my son.”
"If it's true, and there's only one person out there for you in the whole world, what are the odds I'd find mine? And what are the odds I'd be holding onto him like I needed him in order to breathe? I'd guessed they must have been pretty high, because that's exactly what I was doing." ---Hell's Angel: Civil War
