I fell asleep beneath the flowers

For a couple of hours

On a beautiful day.

I like what I like and I follow what I like and what I like follows me so what I like always finds its way back to me.

“I never knew a love love love like this.”

Before you, I thought love was a gift for me. To have someone so enamored with me that they devote their life to my happiness.

Then you flipped that on its head. Love is the confirming aspect of our relationship. In whatever form it takes.

Things I did because I love you:

- fought my most familiar demons, the ones that made me feel safe. Control, Reactivity, Fear, Distrust.

- bloomed into the fullest version of myself. An active process.

- became softer, so that my love is a resting place for you.

- let you leave. Because love isn’t possession.

This list isn’t comprehensive. There’s more but that’s the gist. You’ll never see this.
