This arrived a day ahead of release thanks to Bandai-Namco's official site. I have Prime shipping with Amazon and Bandai-Namco switched their site's distribution over to them earlier this year, so that's why. I also received $6 off after a special promo code offer Bandai-Namco was offering last week, so it's a good deal all around. It lacks online play, but I'm hoping there's plenty of other content to make up for it.
RespDMO up on YouTube has an early copy of All Star Rumble, and is posting recordings of Tailmon's story mode as well as some versus matches with the computer. The story mode mixes fighting game boss battles with an explorable overworld like the Sonic Adventure games.
Worth nothing is that the game is showing none of the glitches we saw in the bandainamcous debug stream--no mercy invincibility invisibility, or clipping through the walls of Toy Town.
Based on the videos Tentomon looks really good in this game, with quick basic combos and a homing attack (Electro Shocker variant?) and his only shortcoming is that Atlur Kabuterimon appears to have basic problems with being a slow-moving Perfect that can't get his attacks to connect very well. (Mega Blaster is just way too easy to avoid.) Noticing some similar problems with Angewomon and Hououmon, I think the inclusion of secondary evolutions may prove to be a saving grace for these characters. Examon as a generic evo won't be such a bad thing if it can wreck face better than its counterparts.
The voice acting is raspy and shrill and I hope it can be turned off :U CAT LASER!
Bandai just announced another coupon code in the stream, for those that will preorder All-Star Rumble, valid until November 5th. If you use the code BNGADIGI while purchasing ASR off of their official website, you can get 15% off the game (same as the OPDECODE coupon that was used previously.)
NYCC 2014: Digimon All-Star Rumble Preview
At New York Comic Con, I got to go hands on with Digimon All-Star Rumble, which is set to be released this fall on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. On the surface, one would be excused for believing this is a game trying to cash-in on the success of Super Smash Bros. It is…

Can Digimon win back some MindShare with the new Digimon All-Star Rumble?
Growing up as a kid at the turn of the millennium, we were faced with many hard choices and the one that probably pitted us fledgling geeks against each other more than anything else was the Pokémon/Digimon divide. You often found yourself in either camp, with either side bickering which came about first, which was…
