Allan Morgan lives in the beautiful border country of Herefordshire and Powys, and is now widely regarded as one of the UKs most distinctive landscape painters. Born in 1952 Allan graduated from Coventry Lanchester Art College with BA Honours in Fine Art. His professional career initially specialised in traditional landscape painting, and he also enjoyed considerable success as an illustrator. His work is renowned for its ability to balance the delicate subtlety of the changing seasons, with vibrant and at times surreal colour. This contrast between the fine draughtsmanship and detail of his classically influenced vistas, and the broad brush technique and ‘colourist’ palette used in his foregrounds, marks Allan Morgan as an artist of high ability and original style.
