This is a reminder that white people in the Star Wars fandom (especially white Americans) have a responsibility to support minorities and people of color in this fandom.

This means we need to be listening to them, supporting their work, and exposing racism/racists in the community.

Star Wars has already been tinted by creators that appropriated and abused other cultures; similar people and situations should not be embraced or ignored in this fandom

You know what I love about Pedro Pascal becoming the new face of Star Wars?

He’s not a white male.

He’s not an oversexualized female.

Never once have they forced him to remove his armor to show his body or face for audience pleasure.

While he is obviously shown to have great skill, they focus on his tenderness, his care for others, his love for the child.

With everything that happened to many of the actors and actresses of the originals, to John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran, this is what Star Wars needed.

Pedro Pascal has brought us a character. Not a pretty face, not a perfect body, not a galactic wide hero.

But a character built solely on character.

And we love him for it.

All of the white people in the fandom complaining about the uproar about The Bad Batch

I can’t tell you what you can and can’t feel but please don’t forget

You will never be as exhausted as the POC who feel they can hardly enjoy the media anymore because their skin color is being constantly removed or altered so that they are seen either not at all or only within a few of the lightest shades

Please stop telling them how tired you are of their voices

Wasn’t the point of the original Empire supposed to be like “look at all these wrinkly white men trying to control the universe but getting their asses kicked”

What if you made someone a gift in real life

And you gave them that gift, they just nodded and walked away without a word or even taking the gift from you

That’s what it feels like to content creators who have people begging or requesting their work and then never getting reblogs or comments

Just a quick update:

You’re going to see very little of me for the next couple weeks I think. My research paper for the end of my grad school class is due August 1st, and then I have additional assignments after that, then I work overtime for 2 weeks and I’m back into class and taking more credit hours. I have a really poor work life balance right now so some things just have to go for now.
