     HANDS FLEXED, dull thumping felt within her fingers as the bruises forming became all the more evident with the stretching moments.  one knuckle was from impacting the face of a stranger; a man of WRETCHED words and an annoying laugh.  the other had lacerations also upon the flesh... for a mirror was now in shambles within a public bathroom some blocks away.  the noise of a shatter had been audible to those just outside, and she wasn’t shocked to have received looks upon exiting.  now, with someone w a t c h i n g her utilize the frigid cold waters of a fountain, the irritation of eyes to her form was becoming almost unbearable.  teeth gritted, but she kept her hands plunged into the hardly clean liquid.

                   “...if you’re going t’stare, you better a’least have hand sanitizer or soap or something on you, huh?  m’just trying to prevent swelling - the water’s dirty as fuck.”

being roused from her sleep in such a rude way did not sit well with selina who sat up in bed, eyes glowing blue to go with the look of irritation on her features. “you are an asshole.” she snapped with a spark of electricity as she spoke, deciding to be a brat & getting back under the blankets.

     The Goblin grins wide, green eyes exposed without the mask to obscure his face and glimmering with mischief, “Now now, don’t be that way~ I may be an asshole, but I’m your mentor asshole. Soooo,” he steps over, yanking away the blankets in one fell swoop, “Get up.”      “You agreed to this when you didn’t run away,” he wags a finger at her, still ever grinning, “Crime and chaos only takes small naps.”

     The question gets Norman to shift uncomfortably. Very few, if not nobody aside from her, knows of the close connection between Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin. Well, anyone else who knew are kinda. . . dead. even Norman himself is uncertain exactly how it happens, and the Goblin never really shares his secrets like that. 

     “It’s. . . it’s not very consistent?” Eyebrows furrow in a hinted frustration, uncertainty in his voice about the subject, “It changes depending on factors. Sometimes it’s brought on by heightened emotions or the situation, other times he’s strong enough to take control.” It is uncomfortable to be talking about it, an odd feeling to speak aloud about his connection with the Goblin, the mystery around exactly how it happens.      As far as he is aware, the Goblin is about as confused on how it works, “There are signs but even then it’s hard to predict.” At least if the change happens in the middle of work or something where it would be difficult to explain, the Goblin is good at mimicking.

“NOBODY EVER ASKED ABOUT YOU, HUH?” voice was laced with curiosity as she turned her head to look at the male sitting beside her at one of the local bars ramon dragged her to that evening. for all she knew he abandoned her to go be with someone else; leaving ally to mingle with the rest of the pathetic loners left behind at the counter. “I honestly don’t know what I’m doing here, either...”

     To say suspicions are raised at Selina entering the lab is an understatement. Most days the lab is empty except for Norman himself--especially when it comes to his lab inside Oscorp that is more of a personal lab to focus solely on the creations of his own--such as the CX serum. So, when she walks in, Norman immediately looks up.      Squinting, he sets down one of the vials of chemicals, “If you short circuited the security system to get in here, you are going to have to pay to get it fixed.” The words are not completely serious, “Did you lose the security badge I gave you?”       Finally, he turns to face her, noticing the phone held up, “What are you--” the flash gets a jump of surprise out of him--and a nice wake up for the Goblin who had decided to space out for the moment. Right, it is still odd to have phones that have cameras better than the ones that were separate.       Norman’s expression quickly deadpans, “Why in the name of everything holy and unholy do you have flash on?”       In seconds his expression changes, his voice lowering to a growl--a sudden quick-change from Norman to the Goblin, “Run. And run fast.”

     It had been a long day between overseeing experiments, talking with sponsors and investors, along with taking a few bits of time here and there to check on Emlyn. Norman was glad Harry chose to be around a bit more, assisting with some of the chaos of Oscorp and the things that cropped up at home.       Even after the time passing, it still feels odd to him to have more than just Harry and himself around. Norman had worried at the beginning how Harry would feel about another addition to their small group, but he seemed happy to get to know Emlyn--even if it was just some conversations and being in the same room.       Norman’s attention shifts from the laptop settled on his lap, feeling weight press against his side. Rather than sitting down on the chairs circling around the fireplace, he had originally situated himself on the carpet in front of the crackling flames and not too long after Emlyn had joined him. She must have fallen asleep from the warmth of the fire.      He lets out a soft laugh, “And it’s not even 7 in the evening.” Nevertheless, he remains in the spot, making sure not to move too much to wake her up. After all the events she has been through, the young woman deserves a rest.
