Swap AU: Gyokko's backstory!
Managi (Gyokko's human name) was born in a village at the edge of the costline, when he was 13, his parents went out on a fishing trip and never came back, after a while, everyone assumed they died at sea, during this time of mourning, Managi found solace in art, specifically pottery.
One night, when Managi was going to bed, the door was busted open, it was his mother who turned into a demon, the two fought each other, but with the added strength of being a demon, she overpowered Managi, but before she could eat him, the former water hashira killed her.
Pitying Managi, she took him in as her own, and taught him water breathing.
