{ event; SPRING FESTIVAL great hall; 9am

Good morning, witches and wizards!

Today marks the last day of Hogwarts’ month-long school festival! Our evening feasts from now on shall only consist of vegetables, as you have all probably consumed enough sugar for a month after last week’s food stalls. Regardless, students who have helped out with the stalls have earned themselves 50 housepoints!

[ / clears throat, pulling out a small packet from his robes ] Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans really do come in all flavours, from chocolate to earwax and-- Oh, fudge this. [ / the magnificent wizard interrupts himself, throwing the small packet of jelly beans over his shoulder ]

In order to celebrate the end of the spring festival, a concert will be held in the Great Hall throughout the afternoon and evening. As some of you may wish to skip your classes tomorrow, it has been decided that classes shall only take place throughout the afternoon, from 12pm to 3pm.

Performing at the concert shall be a number of popular wizarding bands, and the lineup shall be as follows:

Although housepoints will not be given out for attending the ceremony, food will be provided throughout the night, along with refreshments.

Nothing like Spices & Sweets — [ Belle 🌸 Hyejeong ]

It was fun have at least get a break once in a while, but it doesn’t mean Hyejeong could run off and lollygag. Or leave her stand unaccompanied for too long. The Hufflepuff walked around for a bit before eyeing the stall that had a wonderful spicy aroma rafting through the Great Hall. Ah, ddeokbokki... One of her favorite snacks while growing up. Luckily there wasn’t much of a line yet and the girl walked up and ordered a plate herself.

She gave it a good, long looking while poking at the only rice cake pieces. There was nothing wrong with the food, it just brought back many memories of her childhood. Oh, how she missed Heather and Jason... The two people that practically raised her. She remembered how Heather would let Hyejeong watch her make ddeokbokki or her meals, while Jason fed her the unhealthy snacks like candy and chips.

Hyejeong wondered how the two were doing as she popped a rice cake in her mouth. Hot! The girl closed her eyes to stop the tears from running while her mouth gaped open welcoming the cool air to help calm the heat. She even felt her nose running. The witch closed her mouth and chewed as quickly as she could before taking a deep breath. It was a good thing that she grabbed a good handful of tissues in case of anything. Hyejeong quickly wiped her nose before tossing the napkin in the trash and moving on to the next stall.

[ sweet tooth ]

It was only fitting that Eunji helped at the stall of the store she most frequented.

Then again, it truly was a sight to behold - not quite at the level of the shop itself but just about as exciting as a stall could possibly be with its colours and noises and pops and bangs and, most importantly, tastes (as well as the occasional student floating by after a pack of Fizzing Whizbees). Very chaotic, but rather charming at the same time.

She herself nibbled at the end of a sugar quill as she helped package goods and process payments, scooping colourful little sweets into individual bags for the customers. The person who was in charge of the stall itself had deemed it a good idea to delegate duties, apparently, but Eunji didn’t particularly mind - she likely wasn’t as cheerful or energetic as people at other stalls, but she could manage kind and polite.

Besides, she thought, accepting a handful of sickles from a student with a small smile. Sales haven’t dropped - no one can complain.

Behind said student, a chocolate frog went loose and hopped away merrily.

It wasn’t a bad experience, really. Eunji knew by face if not by name most of the customers that dropped by, and getting involved like this was a nice way to spend a weekend - especially since some of the younger students didn’t have the opportunity to head to Hogsmeade to buy their own sweets. Managing the stall and its contents and finances wasn’t as hard as it had seemed, and amongst the activity the fine trembling in her hands had settled and finally ceased.

Yes - today was a good day.

Evie’s Cupcakes & Milkshakes

Smoothing out the puffy skirt of her costume, Evie stepped out to the front of her table to put the finishing touches on her stall. A white, shimmering table cloth draped to the floor with pink lace fringing, the display cute and highly ornamented. A sign floated above her, Evie’s Cupcakes & Milkshakes written in silver cursive handwriting while tiny stars hung like a delicate curtain. Perfectly adjusting the angles of her crystal trays, Evie smiled to herself. Perfect.

“Come and try some cupcakes, everyone!” she called out happily, greeting everyone in her pink maid costume, “We have a wide variety suitable for both people and pets, so there’s something for everyone. I’ll also be making fresh milkshakes so come and try them out!”

Feeling a paw against her lace socks, Evie looked down and - to her delight - found Bao Bao grinning up at her. He’d been dressed in a matching pink bow tie and hat, all too eager to ‘taste test’ another Bao-cake. “Come here, Bao Bao,” Evie said, picking him up to place him in a cosy basket. She laid out a plate for him with a puppy cupcake - vanilla, his favourite. “Dig in, Bao Bao,” she gently pet his head, “You’re my favourite mascot today.”

Lactis Viridi — [ Minhyuk 🌸 Hyejeong ]

Business had been slow that Hyejeong decided to create a drink for herself since she was thirsty. There was nothing, but a good old fashion green tea with a creamy twist. Of course, this drink wasn’t on the menu since it was her personal favorite from back home.

The Hufflepuff grabbed a shaker from the dish rack and filled it with ice from the freezer chest. She then placed the cup in the fridge and moved on to make the cream topping. Hyejeong squatted down, looking through the mini fridge and pulled out the whipping cream bottle. She placed the bottle on the counter-top then used the fridge door as leverage to help herself back up on her feet. Closing the ice box door, the girl grabbed another shaker and filled it with one hundred fifty milliliters of the cream. The witch capped the bottle and moved on to pull a metal spring off from a cocktail sieve. She added one and a half teaspoons of sugar and a half of one teaspoon of salt before dropping the spring into the whipping cream shaker and capping the shaker off, making sure it was air tight.

And she began to shake the container vigorously.

It probably took her twenty to thirty seconds at most, just to get it to a good consistency. Perfectly whipped, but had a bit of liquid to the cream. A perfect whipped topping for an iced green tea. Hyejeong grabbed another spoon and dipped in the cream. She then popped the spoon in her mouth, giving it a quick taste. “Perfect,” she smiled, throwing the spoon in the sink. Now all she had to do was to make the green tea base of the drink and the beverage was complete.

Most stalls will be open from 9am to 6pm, and the main stalls will be (but are not limited to):

Honeydukes’ sweets and chocolates

Ddeokbokki – fresh and made on the spot

All-day barbecue – all your favourite meat, singed grilled perfectly

Puffle Patisserie! – baked goods by current 5th year Hufflepuffs

Quidditch club – will be recruiting members and selling handmade keychains

Dunk the headmaster – costs 5 sherbet lemons per throw

All students who set up their own stall, or help out at a stall will be awarded 50 housepoints!

Draconis Citrum — [Open 🌸 Hyejeong]

“Here you are,” the female smiled to the student, handing them a twenty-four ounce slender cup. “A new persici. Enjoy!”;

The student thanked her before walking away and Hyejeong went on to clean the station she worked at. Bless the Heavens that she finally had the courage to open this stall during the spring festival. The Hufflepuff was so thankful to the maids and butlers that cared for her, who were also nice enough to teach Hyejeong some drinks they made for her when she was younger. Of course, she did add some to the menu that were her own creations from many trial and error.

Once the counter had a nice shine to it, the teenage girl moved on to washing the shakers that piled up in the portable kitchen. Her fingers went wrinkly afterwards, but nonetheless she had to continue working. After placing the containers in the rack, Hyejeong began drying them with a hand-towel. Her eyes focused on the cleaning when she heard someone take a seat by the counter.

A customer.

The raven haired glanced up from the cleaning and smiled at her guest. “Hi! Welcome,” she greeted, placing the cup down in the now dried rack of shakers, “Would you like to have a look at our menu or want me to a surprise you with a random drink?”
