Twist of Fate (2)
Without saying a word, Xena had grabbed the blonde's wrist and begun dragging her away from the beach. She knew very well that the alpha most definitely had the ability to pull away and stop her. However, from glancing back at her, she could tell that it wouldn't be happening like that. Unfortunately, she was almost certain that she'd prefer it if she did. At least then Xena would have a reason to not have this conversation.
Once they reached relative privacy, Gabrielle wrenched away from her like she wished she would've fifteen minutes ago. She spun around to face the alpha, allowing herself to show every inch of her annoyance. The blonde remained unfazed for the most part, crossing her arms over her chest. "Are they mine or not? I have a right to know." She snapped. The attitude just made the omega's nerves even worse and that never lead to a very pleasant Xena.
"Yes, they are yours. But you have no right to them. We had a one night stand that was it. This whole pregnancy was nothing more than one giant mistake." Xena shot back, sneering slightly. It was far too late to terminate the pregnancy, but what she'd said was nothing more than the bitter truth.
"You can't just take the ability to be in my children's lives away from me because of that! You're not even giving me an option as to if I want to be or not." Gabrielle complained, though the woman was hurt despite herself.
"Why should I? I'm sure you have some poor little omega at home. One more suited to being an omega and prettier to look at. You can make them the mother of your children. I'm good on my own." Xena knew that she was being stupid, but she'd handled it just fine for the last five months without an alpha and she'd continue to handle it just fine.
Gabrielle hesitated before sinking her teeth into her perfect bottom lip. She didn't have another omega waiting at home but she knew better than testing her luck with one that was agitated as Xena was becoming, for seemingly no reason at that. Perhaps it was just the dark haired woman's hormones acting up or something. "Let me give you my number at the very least. Just in case you ever change your mind." She implored softly, making it clear that this would be the omega's choice if she were to agree or not.
"Fine." Xena snapped, shoving her phone into the other woman's hands. She watched the blonde type for a few minutes before she handed her phone back. She glanced down to see that the alpha had labelled herself as Gab with a small flower emoji next to her name. The blonde muttered some form of a thank you before trudging away. Xena's finger hovered over the new contact and she came inches away from deleting it.
But she didn't.
